I soak the insides with rubbing alcohol, let it dry, then I put baking soda in it. It works. Also it helps to soak you feet in Epsom salt a few times a week. The Cat litter is a genius idea, I never thought of that. The fabric softener is a bad idea since it doesn't kill the bacteria that causes you feet to stink.

Those shoes are dirty. SMH. How would a person not wash them till that stage yet complaining on the odour. Of course, if the shoe is that dirty even the feet would be. Anyone who truly invests their time to thoroughly clean and take care of their feet and treat them in case of infections will rarely have issues with smelly feet. Just to add up. Washing feet should be with a brush, filer and washcloth to rub all that junk of dirt in between the surfaces. It should be done everyday when you take bath. Incorporate it in your daily routine and save yourself some shoes. Soaking your feet with Listerine, White Vinegar and Hot water should give a life-long fresh feet followed by the steps above. Again those sneakers obviously are dirty. I just cant deal with them. SMH

Wash them on the washing machine with towels for cushioning. Cheaper sneakers have pink cardboard insoles, often glued in place under a top fabric or plastic foam layer, they will survive a few washes, when they start to fall apart you have a choice of using a mesh bag to contain the detritus, or rip them out and replace them with a proper material insole like cork. I maķe my own by sewing together a few layers (3-5) of denim from old pants and cutting to size using the original as a reference. Those you can take out and wash on their own.

The freezer trick is amazing. I played volleyball in high school and my knee pads would reek so bad they where not allowed in the passages part of the car they always had to go in the trunk. So on weekends I didn’t have tournaments we would put them in zip-lock baggies and stick the in the freezer. It would help immensely with the smell of the knee pads.

I don't know what the rocket science this is, but in order to get rid of smell from sneakers is to wash them!!! In the washing machine or you can dunk them in a bucket with soap and water for a few hours to get rid of the smell. Them lay them out to dry outside in the sun. Or let them dry overnight inside your house. I grew up doing this, so I'm not sure why people not washing their sneakers man. Other wise, baking soda with Eucalyptus oil mixed together helps with the smell.

Washing machine, then air dry in front of a fan, dehumidifier, or outside. Washing your shoes is the only way to really get rid of the odor. You have to remove the underlying causes. Oils, sweat, bacteria, dead skin, and the most important, fungus. Also, remove and wash your insoles. Next best option is Windex. Spray until wet and let dry.

it is not about being Hygienic. When you buy shoes or boots that have no ventilation after 3 days of using it, they will stink. I bought my boots a week ago and they started to smell bad. I went online to find out that The real reason behind the smelly boots is that it makes our feet perspire because of the lack of air circulation in and out of the boots. The perspiration is happening through the feet sweat glands, which maintain the temperature of our body. I recommend military boots. No matter what you do with it, it will never smell bad. the technology is awesome, but it is expensive. Just make sure you buy the real deal and not a cheap imitation.

I tested a bunch of things. The odor is gasses from bacteria. You want something that actually removes the bacteria and doesn't just mask the odor with perfume. I tried dumping hand soap all up in the shoes. Like 10 times as much as you'd use to wash your hands, then let them soak for an hour, then hosed them down good to get it all out. Then left them on the radiator for 24 hours. The result was my shoes now smell of soap, but with undertones of smelly feet so it didn't do shit to kill off the bacteria its just hiding it with perfume. Baking soda reduced the odor slightly after 24 hours, but not enough. I've tried leaving it in there several weeks, and it was the same. The freezer method only works temporarily as the bacteria becomes inactive and dormant while frozen down. Yeah, your shoes will have no smell at all right when you pull them out of the freezer but the smell will be back once the shoe is room temperature again.
