They should set it up to just skip 1440 and go straight to 4K. It's stupid that stops at 1080 when it doesn't have to. They could just remove 1440 support all together. More people have 4k than 1440

The TV has to natively support 1440p60!

A little help here. Mclassic works great with upscaling, but my Samsung TV TU8300 constantly flickers and causes screen tearing and my wii u (when it's set to 480p) doesn't not show any image at all except when the resolution is set to 720p (still causes to flicker). Luckily my avermedia can passthrough and show the image in 1080p while preventing flicker or screen tearing. If I buy/use a hdmi switch to passthrough, would that prevent my screen from flickering and tearing?

it's pretty cool, i definitely dont regret my purchase. works with an hdmi hub as well (7-port), not sure if that lessens the effect but its cool. wish you guys still sold the cord as well, could be useful for a one-off

What models of TVs are you using? The center looks like a B7 or a C7, but I’m not sure.

Very cool idea for a product. If my 4K TV supported 1440p I’d get it, but unfortunately it doesn’t. If you guys come out with a 4K mClassic I’ll be sure to get that!

Hmmm i have a sony 4k tv. Can you try that?

Hi, I have connected the Mclassic to my Xbox360 and I have a black screen. I did connected it properly with the power but no picture at all. Not with the green light mode and even no picture with the mclassic off... Any suggestions?

Great job. What can I expect from combining these products. Hisense 4k uhd hdr uled tv with supported 2.1 hdmi, mclassic and mcable, and a nintendo switch.

I have the same LG OLED. I hadn't noticed it was 1080p, but I did notice smoother edges and overall better graphics on my Switch with the mClassic attached. With my PS4 Pro and XB1X I get 2160p on that TV. I'm curious why the TV doesn't recognize 1440p.

Is yours a C8? I have a C8 as well, and it for some reason doesn't support 1440p. The newer model C9 does, however.

@@V1C10US I can't see any improvements on my lg oled. I move my head close to tv but can't see what's change. I can see from 480/720 to 1080, but when I comparing this results to direct 1080p signal from switch, there no difference. 1080p scaled from 720p with mclassic same like 1080p without mclassic. I think it's because lg oled do his own upscaling for 4k. In this case mclassic is useless for lg oled owners, tv can do all "innovations" without any adapters.

@@LeonidEr It's more apparent in some games than others. It made a big difference for Link's Awakening.

My Samsung q700 8k tv has issues with Mclassic it keeps disappearing screen. My old TV Sony 4k which is with my mom and dad had no problems. Is it hdmi or is Mclassic too old? Hdmi switch also has problem. 🙄

Question will you ever update and advance the mclassic into making a mclassic pro ? That has the option to upscale anything thats 1080p or lower. For example the imput must be 720p or lower for the mclassic to work. In the future can you make one that does any input below 1440p for the mclassic to work like the 4k gamer pro. For example the colors upscale one = green light upscale 2 = orange or the other way around like lvl1 upscale is 1440p is yellow light and lvl2 upscale is 2160p is green light

So looking at my LG G1 in RTINGS, it seems that it has 1440p support but only at a forced resolution and not native. With that in mind, this product wouldn't be compatible?

If it did then it would be automatic.

sadly i had to return my Mclassic because my samsung Q80T 4k tv dident liked the 1440 p signal that the Mclassic was outputting. it maked the screen flicker on and of every few seconds. Sadly nothing worked to fix the problem. So i hope there will be in the future a version of the Mclassic that scales the resolution up all the way to 4k 60hz. because i see the potentional it has because the device itself is an awesome addition to upscale the resolution from older consoles like my OG xbox.

Am having a big issue with my Mclassic, when using with the xbox pound cable, wii u, and retro tink2x, the picture cuts in and out. is there anything you guys recommend me to do? Are other people having similar issues? am using a 4k samsung TV, the RU8000 to be exact.

Dart Vega I have the exact same setup. EXCEPT, I have a powered hdmi splitter. My hdmi run is about 25’ and without the splitter I get a grainy signal which will cut in an out. Maybe shorten the hdmi length or add a powered splitter which helps the signal reach further although they aren’t advertised as doing so. Cost about $13 for a 1080p splitter.

Hey there! It does not matter what HDMI port you use. What matter is the frame rate of the source. mClassic upscales to 4K only when the source is 24 or 30Hz. It is great for movies! 😊

I have a TCL S405 4K tv. According to the site it does support 1440p, but by forcing it. I can't figure out how to force it. If anyone knows how please reply.

Just got a 4k TV that says it supports 1440p, but the mClassic is still outputting 1080p. Like the LG in the last part of the video, clearly it’s not supported by default. Problem is, it’s not an LG TV, so this “enable deep color” instruction doesn’t really get me anywhere. The brand of my TV is Hisense and it’s using the Android TV interface. How to I “enable” 1440p with the mClassic on that interface? I’ve tried setting HDMI 2.0 to “Enhanced Format” (needed for PS4 4K+HDR). No dice, still 1080p. I’ve tried setting Color Space” Native”. No dice, still 1080p. Not much else to try. Without a firmware update, I might be stuck with 1080p… a hardware switch would have been nice…

The maximum resolution we support is 1080p when the frame rate is 120fps. For example, we can upscale 720p120 to 1080p120. Let us know if you need further clarifications!

How do you achieve a 4K (2160p) resolution from a Nintendo Switch using the mClassic? Do you like need a 4K@60 Hz HDMI 2.0 cable to do that?

You can’t it’s lie, look up a video called “mclassic force 1440p” and in there he says it can upsacle to 4K but it doesn’t work because it’s a lie, and even on the website it says it scales up to 4K. Straight up false advertising!

@@MarseilleInc Although the mClassic by itself doesn’t upscale to 4K, the 4K Gamer Pro was able to take the 1440p picture and upscale it to 4K by putting the unit last, at the end of the chain. However, the mClassic by itself doesn’t improve the picture to its fullest potential. I saw another KZreadr by the name of Game Geist who uses a daisy chain of an mCable Gaming Edition, an HDMI Female-to-Female Coupler, an mClassic, and a 4K Gamer Pro, in that order, with the console resolution set to 1080p, and the picture quality is outstanding. I was missing the mCable, and Amazon had a used one that had no damage upon inspection. I assume that means unopened, so I went ahead and bought it. It’ll arrive soon, so I’ll update you once I’ve had the chance to try it.

I called LG tech support and the guy told me that the next firmware update will have native 1440p @60Hz. All the 2019 OLED TVs will follow the UM7300.

Goji Kun I have an LG C9 OLED. It supposedly does support 1440p, but not with the mClassic. I’m hoping LG puts out an update that allows it. I’ve contacted them about it. Maybe if enough of us contact them, they will fix it, like in the smaller LG tv example in this video.

Question: Should the console be set to RGB Full or RGB Limited for use with mClassic? Edit: After much testing with various devices and settings I can definitely say that if sending and RGB signal to the mClassic it must be LIMITED not Full range. If you use Full RGB then the mClassic will crush blacks making games too dark.

Hey there! It does not matter what HDMI port you use. What matter is the frame rate of the source. mClassic upscales to 4K only when the source is 24 or 30Hz. It is great for movies! 😊

I have an interesting situation with the Samsung Neo QLED QN90A TV I have. I can get my Nintendo Switch to output 1440p@60hz, but ONLY if I turn game mode off. Luckily the lag isn't that bad and I like the image quality on my TV. Are there other TVs that can get this output with game mode on?

I have the same tv and same problem. I have given up with the mclassic. I have a retrotink5x and game mode works in 1440p with it. The real problem is that you can't tell the mclassic which resolution you want.

Same with the QN85A, I don't understand why it's like that. I had the Samsung 32 inch Q50R and it did 1440p/60 with game mode.

The Only way to get 1440p/60 with minimum input lag is to change the source to PC instead of game mode in the input menu. Game mode isn't that great on this TV at all.

Retrotink and mClassic complement each other. Retrotink can convert legacy component to 480p, but it is not good at upscaling with interpolation and anti-aliasing processing. Hope this gives some clarity!

If you look at rtings supported resolutions, its only @ 120Hz. But AFAIK the Switch only supports 60Hz, and NU8000 doesnt support it. But the RU8000, as an example, does.

I have an older Samsung 4K tv. All I've seen out of it is a 1080p signal. I MAY have a deep color option on it but I don't know if it'll work. I'll test it and see. If it doesn't work, I guess my TV just doesn't support 1440p.

There's a setting on my tv called "HDMI UHD Color" that I can turn on and off. I think that's Samsung's equivalent to HDMI Deep Color, but unfortunately turning it on and off has no effect on the resolution of the signal. Either my HDMI switch is interfering with it, or my Samsung 4KTV just doesn't support 1440p. I will try to upscale a normal blu-ray to 4K using the HDMI switch. If it works, that should eliminate the HDMI switch as a problem.

Update: Nope, my TV doesn't support 1440p. That's unfortunate. Still, the mClassic's improvements even over a 1080p signal is pretty drastic. I wonder if the mClassic could get improved software updates over the micro USB cable? Obviously I don't know how it works. Either way, for anyone who's curious about their own television, the website rtings.com is very exhaustive in their TV reviews and fully listed all the resolutions at different Hz speeds of my particular model TV, so maybe it will help others as well.

In the video description says "Is your TV compatible?" and then a link to a list of TVs of 2018 but my TV is an LG C2 from 2022 and then *where in that page says is compatible or what do I look for?,* I've tried to modify the filters on that listing to show 2022 TVs but nothing. Frustrating.

Mine is connected exactly like in this video. For the 5 first minutes it worked but did not upscaled anything. Past the 5th minutes it just stoped outputing any signal at all. I do not recommand that product.

I'm currently using an evanlak 4k edid emulator with my mclassic to force 1440p on my TV that doesn't natively display it. It works well with my nintendo switch and xbox 360, however, when I use them both with my gamecube or ps3, I only get either no signal or just a black screen. Any explanation for why this might be?

From what I understand, the edid emulator sort of eliminates any kind of incompatibility issues between your display and your source. I suppose being that 1440p is the highest possible resolution the mclassic can upscale to, pairing that with the edid emulator is how you would achieve this, as long as your tv can display 1440p. Let me know if you end up trying it, still no luck with the cube or ps3.

For PS3 you need an HDCP Stripper. I figured it out by plugging it into my PS4 and disabling HDCP. Put the EDID on the Output slot then plug the HDMI into it then the TV. It should work. The HDCP stripper I used is called ViewHD 1x2. Make sure you're checking the reviews to make sure people are mentioning PS3/4.

You may want to check this site (www.rtings.com/tv/tools/table/96008) to see if your TV natively support 1440p input resolution. If your TV does not support 1440p, any EDID emulator won't work.

No, the highest you'll get is 1440p.

I'm unlucky, I have a 1440p UW monitor, works for PC 1440p or 1440p UW, mclassic can only do 1080p either 720p upscaled (looks yuk) or 1080p. It's a real shame I just spent, well $160AUD and an hour or so this morning moving my switch to my PC monitor, but no joy, have tried all 3 switches, realise it's just the middle option, toggling between that and off, and the mcassic refuses to send 1440p to my monitor.

Hey there! We only support a 2560x1440p (16:9) monitor, not 3440x1440p (21:9). It is because a 21:9 1440p monitor, does not include 2560x1440p resolution in their EDID. Hope this helps!

Hey, Juan! LG Oled supports 1440p60 only if you force it. mClassic only outputs 1440p60 if the TV natively supports this. You can head to pulse.ly/up0g8wtpds to double check if your TV is compatible. However, we do not recommend forced resolution. You will need EDID emulator to fool mClassic to force it to output 1440p. Hope this helps!

Hey! Please put the EDID emulator between mClassic and the TV. With some emulators, you'll need to update the firmware and load custom 1440p EDID. Please note that if your TV does not support 1440p, any EDID emulator won't work.

So, for my lg86un85006la TV an edit emulator did the trick for the ps3, sweet 1440p. But sadly there is no way to achieve that on ps5. No matter what, as soon as an edid emulator is connected the ps5 only puts out stereo 2.0 sound and nothing else. There are many games on ps5 which are native 1080p, but no way to get 1440p and surround sound. You have to choose, which is unfortunate.

My toggle switch is broken. The switch will still move, but the light stays blue. Thank goodness it got stuck in 16:9 and not in passthrough mode

Even if your TV does not support 1440p, the 1080p you would get out of the mClassic is still an enhanced version. It includes the other benefits of the mClassic such as Contextual Anti-Aliasing (CxAA), selective image sharpening, color enhancement, shimmering reduction, improved depth of field. Hope this helps!

Go to youtuber channel "TheOnlyTwitch.R6" as he uses two MClassic devices directly connected to each other and his claim and videos show the processing will clean up the already processed signal from the first MClassic to further improve the clarity. I think it would be interesting to see what is the maximum number of MClassic devices that can be directly connected to each other for the maximum image enhancement before the processing begins to distort the image in unnatural ways.

Which Samsung TV are you using? I have the q9fn from 2018 and on xbox one x I can go for 1440p and 120hz. No problem but I only get 1080p with mclassic on switch :(

I own the LG C9 and it doesn't have native support for 1440p @ 60Hz. The only thing we can do is contact LG and tell them to update it to have native 1440p @ 60Hz with a firmware update.

Basically, I know what the problem is, and let me explain: the mclassic upscales the output resolution to 2k, 1440p. Not 4k, which is 2160p. Most 4k TV's edid switch only recognizes 1080p and 2160p output signals. Monitors on the other hand can recognize 1440p and any resolution. Which is why the mclassic won't upscale to 1440p on your average 4k tv. However, the mclassic adds superb anti aliasing when switched on. Your 4k tv is already doing the upscaling job to a extent, you'll still get better image quality on 4k tv with the mclassic. However if you really want to get the most out of its 1440p feature, you'll have to get a monitor that can do 1440p or a tv that can natively support it(extremely rare, doubt you can easily find one today). I hope that helps

So a Lg C9 OLED tv now supports 1440p resolutions. I'm able to get 1440p 120hz with my pc through the nvidia control panel, but even when I enable deep color output I cannot get it to the switch. Any updates on this?

@@mickaeldelgado8916 Lg C9 OLED supports 1440p 120 and 4k 120fps with gsync, but regularly will support 1440p 120 fps for things that support that so for example a Xbox series x, ps4 pro, or PC. I have seen other LG tvs support 1440p resolution at 60fps with the switch using the Mclassiv

I have an LG E9 OLED and they updated it to support 1440p 120hz. Works with my PC excellently, but mClassic still only scaling to 1080. Really annoying. Not blaming you guys but it's really disappointing.

If you have a TV you know will support 1440p, like the LG C1 or CX, you can buy a 2k EDID emulator and put it between the mclassic and the HDMI cable to your TV. That will trick or force the TV to display 1440p properly. I can't link it here or the comment will get deleted but just search for "EVanlak 2k EDID emulator".

This doesn't work with the PS3 because of hdcp. Any way to get around the hdcp of the PS3 and still upscale to 1440p??

This product worked great on my wii when coupled with. Hyperkin cable. I have an LGC2 and even with deep colour cant get it to say 1440p even though tv does do 1440p any ideas?

If your TV doesn't support 1440p input resolution over HDMI, this might cause a problem. We suggest that you head over to pulse.ly/c8dwrkoyl9 to check if your TV natively supports 1440P input resolution. The product definitely improves the image quality on my 4K Samsung, but I cant get the image resolution up to 1440p

Which TV do you have exactly? I have the Q9FN and I only csn get 1080p. On Rtings they said that all the Q-Series after 2018 have native 1440p and 60Hz. My Q9FN has 1440p but only with 120Hz. I don't understand that :(

@@timothygallivan3650 My Q9FN is not able to work with 60hz and 1440p. All Samsung models after 2018 are capable to go with that. Just 2018 and older models just can't!

It's possible with Sony TV ?

just look up your tv and see what resolutions it supports natively.

@@QuestWithMatt I have the xe9005 with mclassic, I think it automatically upscales to 1440p for all games that are from 1080p and under. The tv just doesn't display 1440p on the screen by pressing the information button but most certain it upscales to that. The improvements are obvious if you test.
