Holy crap this video is such a relief. thank you. 😭😭 I was about to freak out coz i thought that my $700 monitor is starting to fail. IT WAS FREAKIN KZread ALL ALONG!! tried out other sites like twitch, and yep, it was just youtube making this "checkered flickers", I'm in dark mode btw. and i think disabling the "hardware acceleration" fixed it.

So I've fixed it in the past by switching off "hardware acceleration" as you mentioned. However, now in the settings it is no longer an option. It has been replaced with "graphics acceleration" and turning this off does not solve the issue.

Gahhh... Hey i found your vid while looking for a fix for the you tube "ambient" setting while watching vids. The flickering occured around the video box only and not the whole screen. pretty annoying. Although i didn't need your fix, ya got me thinkin about my performance and settings and never noticed the "ambient" setting in the YT. i switched it off and the annoying ambient lighting is no more. Thanks for the indirect help. Peace.

works with brave browser too! , i had changed NVidia control panel settings and it then seemed to mess with my browser not sure why it use to work and then broke my browser i tryed to turn nivda back to its settings i used but nothing, but this worked it now works thank you but i still cant understand what happened i feel a lil cray

yeah this isn't my problem. it seems that youtube in dark mode is adding a bias lighting immediately next to and behind the video. if you watch it closely, you'll notice that the background lighting changes with the palate being played in the video. it's incredibly annoying and i just want to get back to SOLID BLACK background. anyone have ideas? looking everywhere in yt settings and can't find it.

I think your talking about ambient mode you can disable it by clicking the gear icon on the video and click the slide to disable

Wait, this is not what I need. I cannot find my problem. My Google Chrome is showing red things and I cannot read the stuff because my Chrome is showing red stuff. I cannot read. I cannot see anything my chrome is I just tried installing it and reinstalling it and uninstall it I tried that not working.

This works but anything that requires you to use hardware acceleration will stop working. It just caused more problems than I started with...

I use win 11, so there is "Use graphics acceleration when available" :)

tried turning off hardware acceleration in firefox, edge, installed brave to try it... all three make sputter sounds with the flicker (there's also lots of snow with the flicker), and eventually the screen goes full green.

Now its called graphic accelaration when available cheers.

Done this already, videos are still the same..

works but now i hav screen tearing wow
