For me it was called "graphics acceleration" instead of "hardware acceleration" if someone sees this comment and cant find it :)

I disabled hardware accelerator in chrome about 2 weeks ago and it stopped a glitch I was having (black and white checker boxes flashing on the screen). However a new issue accrued, not due to disabling hardware accelerator but a conflict between my RTX 3060 GPU and Windows 11, or at least I think. I have been seeing what looks like screen tearing, a thin transparent flash in the center of videos, mostly on youtube and occasionally when playing a game. I have done hours of research, tried many options and nothing worked, till now. In Windows 11, I right clicked on desktop, click display settings, scrolled down and clicked on graphics, up top I clicked on change default graphic settings, and turned off Hardware-accelerated Gpu scheduling, then restarted my pc. So far, I no longer see the flickering in the center of youtube videos. To soon to say this is a fix, but figure I would share in case it helps someone and also if anyone has any additional advice for me. PS, I already tried changing resolution, hertz, and updating drivers. (I will reply to this comment if the flicker returns.) Update: Turning off Hardware-accelerated GPU Scheduling did indeed resolve/fix the center screen flickering issue.

Thanks! Turning off the hardware acceleration thing works for me immediately, I thought my monitor was broken at first 😅 but since it only flickers when watching youtube and not for other activities I just looked it up and found this video ❤

Thanks , my problem was fixed because i was running 60 hz and my LG monitor can support 144hz .I don't know why it reset to 60hz randomly but now all the flickering stopped when i opted 144hz advanced display.

Yes bro actually it worked, so what I did I use microsoft bing cz it's enough for me no need of chrome...... I turned of the gpu hardware acceleration, turned off background running option and finally turned off a extension named grammerly which I used..... And finally it worked thanks a lot bro love u❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤. .... A big thums up for this

Turning OFF MFAA in the Nvidia Control Panel fixed it for me, no need to disable hardware acceleration. If you have an AMD graphics card I do not have a solution for you

I have gtx 1650 ddr6 4gb gpu when i watch you tube vedios my screen sometimes flipckers so i turned off harwadre accleration in my chrome system will it keep graphics card safe?

I really hate videos that tell you hardware acceleration is the issue. I've never ever had an issue that was fixed by turning this on or off. Guess what... nothing has changed.

I switched the hardware acceleration OFF and it seems to solve the porblem. BUt this problem only happened to my PC recently. Before it was doing fine with the hardware accleration ON . Why?
