So basically in my opinion it's about the fact that he went out with his ex girlfriend for a while and he done somethings that he shouldn't have. The people with the masks are like that for a reason because he could and maybe can only see his girlfriends face through the crowd at the time of them going out. His ex girlfriend meant so much to him that he effectively didn't find anyone attractive anymore. Possibly the "Save your tears" could mean that there is something much worse to happen to Abel or his ex girlfriend and that their breakup wasn't the worst thing that happened. At this point I'm only speculating though I'm sure there's some videos talking about this if you search it up on KZread. XOTWOD
