Although I would never use this on a truck or anything going on a road we share with others, I am going to try this on an old Terex wheel loader I just got for the farm. At $2500 a tire, and where I'm the only person at risk, it's worth trying it. Thanks for the tip!

@@digitalizations Tire is still holding up well to the fix! Again, we only use the wheel losder on the farm but it's held up to all the mud and gravel we've thrown at it. Along with the slime rubber cement used in the video, I also used Westweld tire repair cement to brush over this repair on the outside and inside the tire applyed a rubber patch.

did it work. I must ran over something and sliced my tire little bit when I was going four-wheel driving through water crossings and I tried to super glue it back together and it did not work

Yes it works but that crack wasn’t leaking to much air for a real bug slash I would recommend using a different tire sealer

It's your skin, tires harden and crack with age, even if you "could" repair the tire, it's lost a lot of flex and grip, which is even more important

@@SmallFarmGuys It's holding up great LOL. The tire could of held up to when you posted this even without the rubber cement. Tires up $$$$ so I do understand the try. I'm guilty of sometimes not wanting to spend the money, but I have to keep reminding myself. Is it worth my life or others in a blow out. On farm equip like a tractor ok. On a truck or car on the road. Ummmmmmmmmmm NO!

I saw on the news one day a guy that died inflating a tire. The explosion was so strong that the guy lost his head. Now every time I inflate my tires I think about his. I would not do that for anything in this world.

But of a late reply but tires are branded with a set amount of psi to be put in them, most tires for cars sit at 35, trucks can go to 80, trailers can be at 20. And you can go over the "limit" but try not to as just like food dates the limit exists for safety.

Lowriders run 55psi on the tires and then hop the car. I was always scared a tire would pop but luckily never did. Some tires can stand high pressures.

  • @jmikronis7376

I’m going to dismount the tire, clean it’s interior surface with sandpaper to obtain a fresh surface, then apply a thick coating of butyl rubber compound. That compound was invented by Exxon/Mobil to be impermeable to air and moisture. Look up butyl rubber.

@@SmallFarmGuys, ok, if you are interested. I made an effort using 100% Silicone RTV sealant, months ago, unsuccessfully. I should’ve mixed it with a compatible thinner as well as some Silicon oil to increase elasticity. But, I didn’t do that. Silicon doesn’t bond to Butyl rubber but it has to be peeled off to remove it. Besides that, RTV silicone is much more air permeable than Butyl rubber. You would think RTV would hold air. Sorry.

It'd have to be an American! You only buy tyres (that's how it is spelt) with guns printed on them, then you lean on and over an old cracked tyre whilst overinflating it AND you do it in front of the wife / girlfriend so she can witness the carnage.
