I doubt there is a way to actually fix a tire like this. I'm sure the belts and everything under the surface are fine however that rubber might start to separate from the belts over time. I seriously doubt a tire like this would have a catastrophic failure. In my experience some of the rubber might start to separate and make a flap. So you'll probably see it if you are someone who actually works on your vehicles and inspects things regularly. If I couldn't afford to buy new tires I sure wouldn't be afraid to drive on tires like this. I would inspect them every few days and keep my speed under 70mph though. In the case of being poor I might do something like this for cosmetics and if anything sealing out sand and dirt might prevent further damage. That's my 2¢.

If selling the vehicle then inform the buyer of what you have done for cosmetic reasons. Thanks for a top shelf video, and all the best from New Rochelle N.Y,

@@beaunottingham7459 Maybe that means it was just there time ! There is no magic that makes people look at a tire like this and say "yep that tire will last me " but it does get the item in a state that allows it to sell when if you left the tires weather checked you would not be able to make a sale . In truth weather checking is not the kiss of death to a tire you are making it out to be and this technique is used on Trailers NOT vehicles so no one is dying from it and you are being absolutely foolish. Here is a piece of info you will hate . THEY HAVE BEEN DOING THIS FOR OVER 100 years ! It is no different than spray painting stained carpet or bondoing rust . Maybe if people had not become so stupid this would not have to be a sales tactic but the truth is people who are shopping the used market are idiots who expect all the benefits of buying from a sales lot yet shop in the discount world of private sellers . This is a used tire and nothing is going to make it look brand new but this does not make you extra bucks . If you are honest as a seller you still have to do this crap or most unrealistic buyer expectations will keep you from the ability to sell . You can still tell the people you sell to that they will need tires soon but even if you do that if the tire looks like shit they will pass because people are idiots and shop with their eyes ! If you do this on a trailer tire you tell the buyer you did it and tell them to get new tires. This is not dishonest and it sure as hell is not killing anyone ! GROW UP !
