How to Fix a Low Flame on a Gas Stove Burner

Got a wimpy flame coming from your range? Here's how to fix a low flame on a gas burner orifice. I got a 20 year old Kenmore, but you'll see this will work for lots of different ovens and ranges like LG, Samsung, Whirlpool, GE, Amana, etc. If your pot takes too long to boil, check out this video!

Ooh wee! This truly ignited a burning passion within me to cook up a mean beef stew my ol' granpappy showed me how to make from an age-old recipe scrawled on a crumpled piece of parchment that was hidden away in a dusty ol' hope chest he had from an estranged relative. I'm truly de-lighted to have learned from your expertise and to have been fired up by your video. Happy to have received such a serendipitous spark from such a spitfire soul.

Awesome, so simple to fix an issue has been bothering me for long that only the left side has strong flame to cook quickly😂😂

Excellent. I didn't have a toothpick, so I used a small paper clip. The paper clip did the job. Thank you so much!!!

I have the old model of GE profile gas stove with downdraft cooktop. It appears my gas stove head is one piece and I cannot remove the cap like you do. There are two side screws to remove the whole base inside of the cabinet. I cleared each hole with alcohols rub and needle and it still doesn’t work. Is there an easier way to fix the stove heads?

Take out the regulator. Drill out the brass gas jets. Water will boil much quicker now. Like at a Chinese restaurant when they cook with those big woks. Mine works great now. Before I had this tiny blue flame on high. Took forever to cook mac and cheese.

Using a wooden toothpick is stupid since it can break.

a tooth pick can break and make the problem worse. Why use a toothpick that is actually to big for the hole? This video makes no sense and can make the problem worse.

You’re right! It can break if you flex it too much. I started with a toothpick because it’s good to start with the least aggressive method first. Wood is softer than metal so I didn’t want to start digging and scratching things up unless I needed to. So don’t overdo the toothpick and you’ll be fine. Just kinda straight in and out and some twisting.
