Words are for mind. Awareness is for consciousness.

When I was studying martial arts presence was key otherwise you cannot be in the flow. Most people observe, think then react however if you observe a punch coming to your head and you think y ou'll be knocked out before you can react so we say to students "eliminate the middle man" be present, be in the flow of combat and then you're reaction will happen in the blink of an eye...same thing when I teach mediumship, when you're present you can sense the spirit world much easier than when you're engaged in internal dialogue. Thand you for these teachings

I am in the same place. I think it’s natural to go back and forth for some time. How long will that period be, maybe it’s different for every individual. In my experience, the progression of the expansion of consciousness is not linear, but somewhat cyclical.

I have anxiety attacks nearly every day and if it gets worse or goes on much longer I’m going to have to off myself

I am starting to understand how I was trying to conceptualize my experiences through thinking instead of focusing my awareness on being and consciousness (listening, breathing, etc). I love that there’s a deeper knowing other than thinking and that I can shift consciousness away from thinking or naming things. Thank you for sharing this with us.

I used to question and wonder about everything, now I'm so comfortable and accepting about being in the state of not knowing. What peace and bliss I have, I'm so grateful 🕉️

Every time we ask these people about what that “soul” is we get the automatic answer it’s the essence of god, or something similar. End of discussion.

The ‘end of discussion’ comment was meant to describe the attitude from many of those that slap their soul (or god) argument on any discussion as a final statement that is suppose to shut everybody up. Just like yourself I’m all for a discussion on matters concerning mind and spirituality and therefor not fond of dogmatic statements that are designed to give the impression of final truth. In this case it was the unsubstantiated claim of a “soul” being present only if we continue to question -(reality?). There wasn’t much room for discussion in that statement and I therefore felt it to be dogmatic. 🙏

This is the same way how we did Chan Practice in Dharma Drum Mountains. More precisely it coincides with the 3rd stage of “silent illumination”, called “observing totality.” Only in that stage, the mind is the totality,no more observer. Although it’s indeed very comfortable to stay in stillness as observer, but can’t get attached to this status of confort. I personally got attached easily, so have experienced “observe totality” but not yet experienced becoming as one. Thank you for your teaching, I read “the Power of NOW” in 2010, but only realized that power when I started the Chan practices in DDM since 2016. And after years of working , I almost got drown again in egoistic system, it was your YT channel that brought me back to Chan practices again recently. (I did more meditations in recent month than what I did when drowning in the past 4 years combined😅) So thank you so so much Eckhart Tolle 🙏🙏🙏 Enjoying every teaching of yours, especially the humor😆😆😆

I love Eckhart Tolle with all my being! This love transcends race and kin. Our being, the same big being that belongs to the universe. Great words said by my master who freed me from my mind made prison aka ego ,and introduced me to presence.

Meditation, and not thinking conceptually when not necessary, will take you to higher levels of consciousness.

Brings to mind, when I travel to Asia I´m always thrilled that "I´m not going to understand anything". For many it is intimidating, but for me it is restful that language-wise there are only vibrations and body talk. Likewise, when teachers double-talk, that is they speak translating themselves, or giving the lecture in two languages at once, I love the "rest" and to recreate myself in the vibrations of the language I do not speak, especially when it is Hindi or Sanskrit.

I remember that I already mentioned this before, but I truly feel the the composer Olivier Messiaan was a marvellous example of a person listening to the forest, when he wrote down the song of a blackbird singing. Writing down music is a conceptual act, but here, the bird isn't been interpreted, but reveals the soul of the forest. So here is a human being, putting human knowledge at the service of a bird. Now that is truly divine. i believe I already told that my brother Frank Theuns played this music on his Böhm flute, and more that on one occasion, the pidgeons landed on his balcony to listen to him. My bro could make music, blowing on anything. Even on a coffeepot, filling it partly with water, tilting it, and then blowing on the teut.

Just think how we could sort out all of our world’s troubles with being conscious! I experienced it when growing up in nature and am working at finding this consciousness again, in a daily practice. I notice that I have been forgetting to allow and notice my feelings too, as part of the process, I suppose in the effort to regain the feeling of being ‘unburdened’.
