Absolutely insane that your mainshaft nut came off that easy... I tried three different impacts, one air and two electric and mine wouldn't budge. We had to use a four foot long jack handle over my 3/4" breaker bar and I still needed a second person to get it broke free. The second person being my friend that is a Harley tech, and he said he had never seen one on there so tight - so no telling?! I have heard other people having issues as well... but y'alls and Tripp's videos made it look like you encountered no problems. About to watch the second video now - congrats on the chain conversion, you are gonna really like it!

Your auto- chain tensioner reminds me that I had old adjustable style an upgraded to your Auto-adjust. I'm having issue with primary banging an study brings me back to Auto-adjustable. So, I'm going back to original an checking on banging! If you have issues look into that upgrade on primary chain shoe!

Now you have had time with this mod added to your bike... What is the advantage of a chain over a belt? I've been curious about doing such a mod on my 2007 Lowrider, but wonder about chain lube thrown on my bike frame, added chain maintenance, and chain noise. The only advantages I can see with it, is to be able to replace it without pulling the primary case and/or possibly spacing it outward to mount a fatter tire. I'm not sure of the strength difference between a belt or chain, and I do love the belt, but always afraid of breakage out on the road.

Cast Away I’ve put atleast 5k miles on my chain haven’t had to adjust it once. As far as regular maintenance I do lube it regularly or if I get caught In the rain. Yes it is messier than a belt but it’s the price to pay. Pros of a chain they can handle higher horse power setups, you lose less torque to the wheel cause by your belt stretching so it feels like an improved throttle response, and yes a chain itself is easier to replace if u r only doing the chain

Dane Yourell chains last longer but require more maintenance imo such as lubrication. Chains can easily provide either more or less torque by changing your sprocket setup to what u like such as if u like to wheelie or just cruise at highspeed. Downside chains r expensive

Besides, if your belt breaks you have to do nearly this exact process to put a new belt on. If you own a big twin the first time your belt breaks I'd recommend converting to chain because chances are your belt will break again. And it'd be easier to replace a chain if somehow it breaks.
