If any of you are very sensitive to acid in onions causing tears in the eye, avoid cutting the root until you've finished chopping. Learnt it from another famous chef and it definitely helped me.

Thanks Ramir. We must wash the "uncut" onions not after cutting them in the middle and we should not put ANYTHING/veggies, fruits etc in the water to wash or not to get the tears in eyes and throw the water. You are teaching ppl to loose some nutrients etc from the onions !!!! You just use Onion Googles for that purpose ! Please delete this video and repost with the Right info. Exactly. The best teacher out there is trial and error ! Though I still have issues removing the outer layer of the onions. It takes too much time. For me it's easier to cut the onion than to remove that first layer. I need a hack for it. Same with garlic. Takes ages to remove the skin :(

Very informative👍. ..why would anyone dislike this video; not just 1, but 3,000?!?! Cmon man. This video covered everything on cutting an onion. If you are a beginner who is NOT cutting their onions this way, you're doing it wrong. Later you will develop your own style.
