Started making this yesterday! 10hrs in and just got to the hood part, will be my first ever wearable made, I’m so excited to finish it! I used Vintage Pink, Khaki and Dark Brown, going to make another one in all greens so I can be invisible in the woods Thanks so much for making your pattern free and a video to aid, would never have been able to make it otherwise :)

I made two so far! One with a variation of black, red, burnt orange and the same green you’re using, and another that’s primarily black, with one row of maroon, then one forest green, wherever it looks good. The only problem I had was how to handle the stitches of the hood one the ends of the rows. I ended up adding two clusters extra and it made my hood long on the first I made. I have dreads and a dread bun and it actually looks amazing over my head/bun combo! I added a tiny pompom and it looks awesome.

So after looking at what I thought was a finished product I looked back at yours and thought “this doesn’t look right but I followed your tutorial to a t I was so confused… do you really wanna know what I did ? I sewed what was supposed to fine the face shut and left what was supposed to be top of hood seam open!! 😅😅 it made all the difference to go back and fix that minor detail. Nonetheless this was a great tutorial and I’m so proud of my finished product ❤

weird question..... what happens if I didn't turn after the end of each row from 4-19? I just realized I wasn't turning, since those are worked in rounds it didn't click. I'm debating if I should frog it all or see what happens =(

Wouldn’t it be the same for a plus size, seeing as the head is roughly the same size for every adult regardless of circumference of body? 🥴

@evelynandpetercrochet Pattern says leave 24 inch tail to close trim over drawstring. I cut 30 inches and even thats not enough😢 What am I doing wrong?

Just chain the required amount (i think was 99) then do single crochet in all chains

Is it just me, or is there something wonky with the decrease rows? Especially the second decrease row i decreased after every 5 spaces and ended up with way less than77 double crochets for the row (even though that’s what the pattern indicates). Thoughts?

  • @EvelynAndPeterCrochet

I just double checked mine and it is 77 stitches! What is your stitch count before you decreased? Maybe you have a mistake before you started decreasing and it through off the numbers?
