How to Cooked Steamed Pompano | COOKED UNDER 30 MINUTES! Filipino Food Recipe | Foodie Pinoy

Here's our steamed fish with garlic, ginger soy sauce. This is an easy and flavorful recipe that you can prepare for lunch or dinner. Enjoy!

Ingredients and Procedure
~500 grams pompano
Salt
4 cloves garlic - minced
1 thumb ginger - julliened
Stuff inside of pompano with ginger and garlic
Wrap in foil
Steam for 20 mins.
For the soy garlic sauce
2 tbsp soy sauce
1 tbsp sugar
2 cloves garlic
½ thumb size ginger
¼ cup of water
Stir and bring to boil using low heat. Simmer for 5 mins.
Once the steamed pompano is cooked, discard the liquid to remove the some of the fishy taste.
Pour the soy garlic sauce over the fish. Garnish with Spring onion.
Serve with rice.

Best pompano recipe i know is really similar to my snook recipe.... 1 whole pompano salt to taste 1 pinch of pepper 1 lemon cut into wedges....this works with just about any method of cooking...its pompano doesn't need much

Yummy..! But if I were the one to steam pampano, I'd rather use a banana leaf instead of foil kase foil releases toxic aluminum lako na pag nainitan.

Agree! Ako, i dont use foil. If no banana leaf, just let it that way as I do to most of the fish I steam.

Uh no. Only when aluminum is exposed to something acidic like citrus or tomato sauce.

Steam for 20mins in medium heat po?
Nice recipe but try adding mirin & sesame oil on the sauce.
The way you peel ginger would make grandmas roll in their graves. Just scratch the knife and rub the skin off. You could even just use a spoon.
