I put a piece of sandpaper under the paper to give the rocks a bumpy look! It worked!
Absolutely gorgeous page. Your rocks alone steal the show! Thanks so much for sharing as I cannot wait to give this a try 💜
Loved this video! I am a rock hound, and I never could figure out how to color rocks, now with some practice I will be able to. Thanks for sharing your talent with us!
The best video of coloring rocks/stones on here! Great job, very realistic & easy to follow.
Have just located your site, and am watching you colouring the rocks. Wow! Love your work. Thank you.
Absolutely wonderful helpful video!! I plan to use these techniques on a picture I’m working on right now. Thank you Betty! ☺️
Amazing! Can't wait to try this!
Thank you for this video. I love your work. I use Prismacolor Premier Colored Pencils most of the time, & also Black Widow. I'm going to try to find comparable colors to do this. :)
Your rocks are amazing. Thank you so much for the tutorial.

You're welcome! I am glad you enjoy it.
Fastastic piece !🤗
Could you possibly do a video on how to color a street so it looks wet?? I can't seem to do this.... I would appreciate it very very much. Thank you.
When are you going to do the crab?
How neat!!! Curious. Is this being colored in the book or on a printout of it?

This is colored in the book, I don't want to deal with copyright issues :-)
I have been trying to colour rocks and stumbled upon your demo, I love the end result.. Next the crab.., Did you draw them or did they come in the book?

phdstudios1 this illustration is from Daydreams by Hanna Karlzon. I am glad you found the tutorial useful.🙂
I can't get the right effect on the paper in the Johanna Basford books. My work is streaky and not gently blended. It's like the paper is too slippery. I'm going to try sketch paper.
Wonderful! Thank you for teaching us and for zooming in so closely!!
So there's no color going on any rocks?
I wonder how a Caran D’ache blender pencil is different from Derwent? Is Derwent dry like a Prisma or creamy like Caran D’ache? That is truly amazing!

Yes Derwent blender is similar to Prisma. 😍
Interesting video. I like the music too. Only suggestion is to be aware that you have several blurry areas making it hard to adjust eyes

Your work is beautiful. The way you use colour and your blending... breathtaking. Instagram is great for looking at your work but there are only two people that I really wish would start doing KZread videos again and that's Peta and of course, you. Any chance you could film again? Even once a month?

Thank you so much for your comment, I really need to do that but working full time is making it hard, will make an effort soon 😍
May I ask what paper you used here? It has a nice tooth.

Hi Dawna, I colored directly in Hanna Karlzon's book.

Qas,
Nice work on the stones. That said, just for future reference... if I may, that music drove to the brink of complete insanity. I'd rather listen to a lawn mover or a leaf blower or.... well you get the idea. I would've liked to hear your thought process.

Too funny. I muted it. Yes I too would have loved to hear her thought process or just talking.

Yea I don't like the background music in video's-I can feel my stress level rise when I am watching the video-don't need it-I mute it

The rocks look great BUT why post this video w/out falling through with the colors you’re using. You started off showing what colors you used but then stopped. Are we supposed to guess? This is what’s so frustrating when people add videos like this. People will get all set up to follow along just to realize what a waste of our time…. Bc you didn’t finish. So I disliked
