Hey Bob, Are you using a High Tack vinyl? If not, our Sign Supply guys recommend to try our 201HTAP or 285 RoughMark. If you are wrapping the whole thing they recommend moving up to a high tack cast film like the MPI 1106. I have put links to each product down below: 201HTAP: browse.jdsindustries.com/main.php?r=frontEnd&view=search&doGetSearch=201HTAP 285 RoughMark: browse.jdsindustries.com/main.php?r=frontEnd&view=search&doGetSearch=gf285 MPI 1106: browse.jdsindustries.com/main.php?r=frontEnd&view=search&doGetSearch=MPI%201106 Hope this helps! Tough one here: Have you tried using this stuff on painted walls at all? I'm in the middle of a job. There's a few larger vinyl strips that have some weak contact points. I'm debating spraying a shot or two of this onto the walls in trouble spots in hopes of reducing bubbling. I think the Zero VOC painted walls mixing with my vinyl adhesives are causing gas bubbling. I did mention this to my supplier and they said the paper I ordered was for Zero VOC paint. Not sure if that was true because lots of gas bubbles form within 24 hours of installation. We're too far in to repaint or reprint and the client wants to forge ahead. Any feedback is appreciated.

If the walls had been recently painted it could be that the paint is gassing out still. We would suggest popping the bubbles with a pin needle and trying to push the air out of the poked hole. You might be able to get those areas to stick down. Hope this helps! You can always give us a call and talk to our sign supply division and they may be able to walk you through more solutions as well! 855.661.2388

Hi there. Are any of the rapid tac products toxic? Should we be wearing latex gloves and protective face mask while using rapid remover? Thanks in advance.

I bought some vinyl wrap and "Rapid Tac" of Amazon. I wiped the piece I'm wrapping twice with Rapid Tac. Is that good enough to lay the vinyl wrap down or do I have to use "Rapid Prep" first or does it matter?

Clean the surface with "Rapid Prep" until no dirt is shown on your paper towel. "Rapid Tac" is used for wet vinyl application and is not suited for cleaning!

Can I wrap my car with this

We recommend using either Avery Dennison’s MPI 1105 Easy Apply RS digital print film or AD’s SW900 color change film. The film used in this video is a cut vinyl. It’s 3M Series 7125 Scotchcal ElectroCut Cast Film. It could be used (as demonstrated in this video) for stipes on a car but not to wrap the entire vehicle. Hope this helps! If you would like to hear about more materials available, our Sign Supply team would love to help you out. You can reach them at 855.661.2388.

@@JDSINDUSTRIES hey why are some wraps for full car while others are only for stripes? I'm doing my full roof and trunk but the hood will only be mostly covered like a huge stripe. I'm currently looming at the sw900 gloss black does this seem like a good choice for my application?

Good Question. Striping or accents can be less demanding therefore, the material doesn't have to have as much technology built into it. When doing a partial or full wrap of a car, there will inevitably be areas of the car that need a film that repositions, slides, and has air egress (bubble-free) technology. These films also have the ability to stretch and form a new memory according to the position they will take on the car. Films meant for flat signage such as cast or calendered cut vinyl do not always have these capabilities and should not be used for wrapping a full car. Lastly, most of the conformable films are also removable for several years which is also a good practice when putting graphics on a car. Many basic cut vinyl films come with a permanent adhesive. In short, you can both wrap a full car with the sw900 gloss black as well as use it for striping. Staying with the same film will also ensure consistency throughout your wrap. Good luck wrapping!
