    What power had the laser and which settings u used ?

  • @JDSINDUSTRIES
    @JDSINDUSTRIES25 күн бұрын

    These are the settings we recommend with different epilog lasers: 35W 600DPI 25 Speed 70 Power 60W 400DPI 35S 65 Power 120W 400DPI 60S 60P These are the setting we found best with our Trotec: 80W TROTEC 500PPI 40S 60 Power These are just starting points and you will need to make your own adjustments. Each laser is different even if you have the exact same model! Hope this helps!

    Just a question of application, I applied some SBL-238's to some caps, without instruction, i taped the transfer to the patch and the patch to the hat and pressed at 365 degrees for 45 seconds ... awkwardly they looked great and customers purchased.. but am i looking at some potential kickback for heating the adhesive that long?

  • @JDSINDUSTRIES
    @JDSINDUSTRIESАй бұрын

    You might be fine. We have found with over exposing the patch adhesive to heat that the adhesive may break down prematurely.

    By feather we meant adding a gradient to the edge of your design so that your artwork blends with the white of the lanyard. Mostly just a tip to get rid of that hard edge since it would be difficult to sublimate all the way to the edges of the lanyard. Hopefully that makes sense and of course if you have any questions you can give our sublimation team a call at 855.782.4657. They can walk you through anything you may have questions on!

    I have found that most of the stubborn residue comes from cutting out the piece. I apply the masking after engraving and prior to cutting the piece out. That removes the dust created during engraving and prevents residue buildup during cutting.

    Using the Piburn Rotary v4 with the grip addon you can put them on a rotary, even the 64 oz bowls as the grip addon has extensions. It's nice being able to put the pet names over most of the viewing area on the bowls instead of the small 3 inch marks. However, if you don't have or can't get a rotary with extensions, the flat option does work well. I use my OMTech 80w for my bowls as that bed does deep enough. The OMTech 130w does not go deep enough. These can be done on the xTool, I noticed that was asked in the comments. The problem with using the xTool is depth. You will have to prop up the laser frame to achieve the height needed, it takes some creativity but it is doable. The second issue with using the xTool is that you will be lucky to get a 2 inch engravable area due to the lens and its limited capabilities. I did a small bowl on my xTool and it was ok...it was just a very small engraving. This was on the D1 Pro 20w. xTools like the S1 or P2 will have a hard time and I'd even venture to say they are not doable, simply because they are enclosed and there is not enough room inside the enclosure. Hope that helps anyone lurking. 🙂
