Your best coach as a shooter is your internal coach I like where your headed on that pod cast. Been a precision rifle/pistol since I was in college. I enjoyed it a lot but the mental game was a struggle in the beginning. I started late shooting precision compared to other people in college was competitive but soon hit a wall. It wasn’t for lack of practice either. It’s amazing how heavy 1oz trigger can feel when your afraid to miss the 10 or the X you know you can own. The interesting thing is while I did more practicing (some good some bad) 20-15 years ago I have done multitudes more effective honing of those skills just on my own for fun as a practice in perfecting my self. Wish I knew then what I know now. It’s an old hat saying among shooters “The best person to be in competition with is your self” sounds simple on the surface, but I think it turns in to a life long pursuit. Anyway thanks for the archery tid bits I dabble in that too from time to take as a relaxing break from other stuff. Tuning up my bow from being dormant for a few years I am by no means a competition archer just enjoy the honing of my skills back to where the were and maybe a touch better. Never messed with torque tuning or the pull through release but I am going to try it. I still mark my arrows with tick marks on the fletching so I know how they favor. 6 years ago I Left off at being able to hit stuff about the size of a quarter at 40 yards kinda reliably. Think I will apply some of your wisdom and see if I can do better this go around. Your journey has been inspiring. This is America still, it’s good to see some from the slightly younger generation post about the stuff there called to compete or go on a hunt in Africa. Perfect timing! - as I'm, just now, altering my nock point. Up until, I didn't know that a square knot would pull tight around even while the knot, itself, was cinched! So, you've helped me twice in one video. Signed, Former Tree Surgeon

Awesome glad to help!! When doing the square knot just go like above then below above then below so they alternate sides :)

Prolly one of the biggest accuracy killers ever! Thanks! I used to only tie below when I shot a blade for downward pressure during the draw until I went to a drop away and tied above. Accuracy got better immediately.

These nodes have a tendency to shift over time by means of a d-loop to each other. I do it differently-first I knit a d-loop, then I make a second layer of winding inside it so that the d-loop cannot compress it.I did it once and forgot, I'm sure everything is OK.

For regular shooting I've been using the Beiter hunter 19/2 nock and it is easy to setup. However this year I used Nocturals and noticed that the nock gap changes when the nock is not lit vs when it is lit. When it's lit the nock is wider and pinches. What is the solution for this? Do I set my nock sets for the lit nock, or the unlit nock gap?

Great video, just changed my nocks over to GTO nocks and was experiencing too much nock movement. Is there anyway you can do a video on tuning your target arrows?

So I have a bunch of stuff on Instagram showing what I do. I do what’s called group tuning. I have a bunch of little videos on there what I need to do is make a longer one and post it here. Truthfully most of my stuff is on Instagram and Facebook and I’m constantly posting in stories. I need to be better about actually posting stuff here I always forget!

Would you say a total of 1/16 to 3/32 gap when your nock is on

So when one draws their arrow back, right before full draw if the nock was pinching would it not push the arrow up and bounce on the blade of the rest? I will tell you what I struggle with, my peep and getting a consistent good view for scope alignment.

If it’s really bad it can lift it yes. But you can still have nock pinch even if it doesn’t lift. I see people all the time with hunting bows that their arrow lifts and then falls as they are almost at full draw. That is definitely nock pinch. Adding the ties and leaving that little tiny bit of space will definitely help!

Thank you for making this. When I use the LCA draw board the bow seems to draw back pointing up a bit instead of straight level. Is that normal or do I need to fix something?

This is a Big Negative for Me with the LCA Draw Board. You Also Want Bow Perfectly Level When Checking/Adjusting Cam Timing. I Modified Mine with Angle Iron and C Clamp to get a Straight Pull Back.

Way back in the day when we had ropes on releases and no d loops, we have zero problems. And those old way shoot just as many x’s as today’s bows with today’s set ups. So all the expense and the updates features has NOT made any bows more accurate, which is what everyone with a Brian should want. Accuracy over speed any day of the week. So yesteryears $200 bows shoot just as well as today’s $2000 bows.

It’s totally invaluable and we can’t thank you enough! I’m sure you’ve already done a video on your soft nock, but I couldn’t really see how you tied it. @@PaigePearceinsight Hey Paige, I just got my LCA draw board and EZ Green press based on your recommendation (of the draw board). I noticed that if you tighten or loosen the allen head screw that holds the crank on the draw board it will adjust the pressure of the internal winch. Maybe yours just needs to be tightened to get back into working form! Try it out and let me know?
