How to change a spark plug on an ATV
We are going to swap out a spark plug on a Yamaha Raptor 660R today because a big dummy got it all wet and muddy. This is a very simple and easy maintenance task and will require very minimal tools and time. This garage project should only take you about 10 - 15 minutes. Make sure you get a pre-gapped spark plug or you will have to gap it yourself. I use the Iridium plugs because they last much longer and run better in your machine. This project is also good to do every couple rides to keep your ATV running the best it can.
For a Yamaha Raptor 660 the spark plug gap should be between .031 and .035

Am I supposed to remove the tip of the new spark plug and install? I noticed the old plug didn’t have it or it stayed in the boot

lee gee yes if the plug came with the round tip on it then you can use some pliers and carefully unscrew that round cap piece
That is not the coil man. Its just the boot.

So I was trying to change the spark plug on a 2020 kayo 70 cc and it broke off at the thread. So the other half is still in there. Any idea how to get the other part out?

Will a bad spark plug cause the bike to sputter and back fire or is that a jetting problem?

For the Raptor 660? The plug used is the NGK (2202) DPR8EIX-9
