How To Carve a bulldog that makes you smile

I really wanted to carve and film this dog. He's just the best. Carving is very simple and enjoyable. Also, for safe whittling, I tried to use a longer stick and cut it to size at the end of the work. So, this type of carving will be a great project for beginners. It also relates to my previous video:

In this video, the wooden sculpture is 45 mm in length (the final measurements, after sanding) and the block of wood has a diameter of 25 mm. If you measure from the head:
1. Head - 13mm (carve a vertical line for the head diagonally).
2. Front paws - 10mm
3. Belly - 10mm
4. And back paws - 12mm
I make the back paws larger than the front paws. And don't forget to carve the side lines for the belly diagonally.
For painting, I use watercolors: white, light brown, brown for shadows, and black for the nose and eyes.
Also, I made a longer version of this video:

Thank you for your time, and good carving to you.

For wood carving, I used my regular whittling knife which I made myself; the blade length is 40 mm, and the overall length of the knife is 130 mm.

I love your videos! I got really into woodcarving a few months ago at my school but since school ended and I graduated I haven’t been able to since I don’t have a kit. I have an unfinished penguin who stares at me with his half done face sitting in my room 😂😂 my boyfriend is getting me a really really nice woodcarving kit that I’ll be getting at the end of this month. So excited!! You have inspired me greatly and filled the void of not being able to do it myself, so thank you :)

A few years ago, I spent a whole year carving just one small sea turtle. And I'm really glad about your success. Thank you for sharing this wonderful story that also inspires me. May your new tools serve you well and bring you joy. Good carving to you.

Did your knife stay sharp? Or did you pause to sharpen it?

I often forget to properly sharpen the knife, but in this video, I had a bad tree branch. The closer the branch is to the trunk, the better it is, but this one was too soft(brittle?). I sanded the details and filmed the carving to the end, and I liked how it turned out. So, I decided to leave everything as it is.
