That looks very different compared to the thumbnail

Because the thumbnail is the black cylinder, compared to the finished vase? yeah it would look different.

@WolfWarrior01 no the thumbnail is a bunch of those straight pieces rubber banded around cylinder in the lathe.

When ever you come up in my feed, yours is the first video I watch. You never disappoint. I still say you are the only person who could turn a stick of dynamite with out setting it off.

I have got to try using resin in my shop. I see it used for your turnings & others using it for tabletops etcetera. Jack, excellent work as always!
unique piece, based on how the ply falls in the resin you could get endless variations.
a Very pretty vase.

At the beginning, I thought the random way you loaded the wood pieces into the form would end with a piece that was too chaotic for my taste. I was wrong, I really like the way this turned out! I'm glad you'll be trying more with this method. I was wondering if you do anything with the offcuts? The base that was left in the chuck *looked* like it is big enough to turn a small shallow dish or something, though I know size can be very deceiving on video. Thanks for what you do!
Beautiful as always
WOWZERS, that's beautiful. Wonderful job. God bless. 🙏💖from Canada

Wow the colors are the madness and the black fits great 😊❤
Pretty awesome looking.

Sehr schön
So pretty ❤
That’s different. I’m assuming some of the smaller pieces got bent when you stuffed them all in the cup. Very nice.
Call Christie's....😎👍
Perfeito!
I've always wondered when watching these, what do you do with all the resin shavings that go everywhere? Do they just go in the bin?
@JackMackWoodturning
3 күн бұрын
God no. I’m someone a ‘eco warrior’ (for want of a better phrase) I save all resin shavings and re cast them in finished form pieces. Most recently I made a park bench that I donated to a local community park, I make a big deal of demonstrating how businesses can reuse most of their “waste” with a small amount of creative thinking. 👍🏻

Love this so much 🌈🌈🌈
can you recreate the egyptian 'schist disk' sculpture. d
It's a really nice piece except for 1 little thing. Like so many other projects, you carved a nice foot, and then, at the last moment, for some reason, you cut it off and just let the piece sit on its little stump. I know, it's your work. You do what you like. You do what makes you money. Just my humble opinion. But otherwise, I love it. You do great work.

Sorry, I don’t think there was a foot on this vase. Do you mean the piece that remains in the chuck after parting off ?
@MyMavic3
6 күн бұрын
not the piece actually in the chuck. The part between that and where you parted it off. The very wide area touching the chuck but NOT in the chuck. You know the inch or two at the bottom you parted off where it flares out before hitting the chuck.
You don't usually wear gloves when you're turning, mate. Was there something different about this project that changed your mind?
wshat is the generic name for that coloured plywood please. Never seen it before steven

Don’t worry C. No need to be embarrassed. Not everyone who has access to the internet has the mental capacity to understand art. Perhaps you would feel more at one watching video’s of fat people falling over.
Too many ads for this 🤷♂️
I was dubious at first, but man that is an extremely beautiful vase, Kudos
