Rams are why I got in the hobby in '79. Very informative your Specimen's look Great
Keep making videos about this process. Very informative. Would love to see how and when to move them into an actual tank.
I really do like watching these videos they are very informative 👍👍. I have been watching your videos off and on all day just came across this channel last night. Thank You So Much for sharing all of your knowledge.
I strain my brine shrimp through a cheap little round strainer so as not to add salt to the aquariums. I raise and feed shrimp daily. I hold the strainer over a cup and squirt the turkey baster over that and use the strained shrimp immediately. Some tiny ones get through the fine strainer anyway, so I pour the cup back into the original hatchery through the strainer and use those shrimp too. My best GBR success brood was when I let the parents raise the fry themselves in a dark tank. Both parents did a great job. I finally netted the fry when they were quite old and showing the ram shape.
I just got 3 by mail and no clue they were babies 😆 thank you
Thankyou for Informative Video!!
Didn't know Bam Margera switched to breeding German Rams since Ryan Dunn's death. Jk. Great vid👍🤫
You legend ❤ I breed rams and get quite good yields, but you had some simple and obvious tips in here that I hadn’t thought of 👍🏻👌🏻

Good informative video mate👍🏻
Love your videos
Loved this video!!! Now I am not terrified of one of mine laying any eggs. I did get a surprise when my two MALE mollys started shooting out little babies. I nearly tore the house down trying to get that blue ram, who was in time out in the community tank, outta there!! It was so much fun and now I know what I need to do. Thank you so much

Great video , unless I somehow missed it you did not say why the water was blue ? I guess Methylene Blue , if yes what solution do you use ?
Do you feed baby brine right from when they hatch? Or do you need smaller foods?
Do you allow a customer pick up for people who live in Pittsburgh?
Hi I m so Interested in ram Breeding.. I wonder when exactly you move fries from the bowel to a Tank?
I have a question.. do you use a heater at all? Once the eggs are in the container with the air stone, and meth blue, should I add a heater for the eggs?
How do you keep the temp in the bowl?
hi just wondering if i can let the baby ram stay with their parent all the way? currently my baby is under their dad's care. the mum was being rejected by the dad after 2 days of taking care tgt
Informative vid! Hatching eggs, and rearing the fry in the plastic buckets is an interesting idea....seems to save a lot of space and keeps rearing and maintenance fairly centralized. Thanks for explaining your baby brine shrimp hatching process. When do you start weaning the fry off brine shrimp to dried foods? ANd how do you go about it? Might be a good topic for a future vid. Thanks for posting!

Is keeping so many fish in one tank just a matter of more water changes?

perhaps you should have more water for your brine like one 1/8 G.!!!, i think also that salting ro water is more efficient also for hatching % !
Hi I have a question do you rinse the brine shrimp in fresh water? Before adding it in for the Fry's to eat? Or do you just add it straight it with that salt
@pittsburghpets3759

Does the salty water you add when you feed the fry not upset the fry?

what do you feed them after they become free swimming but before they could be big enough to take baby brine shrimp? Great video btw!

Thank you. I fed newly hatched baby brine shrimp from day one of free swimming, before then they are feeding off their egg sack and don't feed them
Could you use the same water from the tank in the small bowl for the fry or should you use different water. Also what is the best way to keep the bowl the same temperature without a heated room
@pittsburghpets3759

Depends how clean the tank is, its best to just use new treated water. Can heat a 5-10 gallon tank full of water and then float or sink a jar/bowl in the tank. Allowing the warm water to surround it

Hey I have a question for you and by the way I love your videos and keep up the good work ! But my question was is if you sell fish by chance because I live in the Pittsburgh area and me and my dad have been around a lot of different fish and the German blue rams happen to be the favorite and can’t find a lot of good looking ones around and I just wanted to know if you sell any by chance. Thank you !

Been raising some ram fry using containers like you do bit have been having a fair bit of die off within the first few days after hatching. Any idea where I am going wrong? Keeping airstone high in the water line and doing a water change in there daily. They are dying before free swimming stage. Any ideas?

make sure air is not too high and the fry don't get pushed around, no water changes or food until free swimming

Thank you for sharing 👍 I'm a bit confused with the hatching of bbs. When do you setup the bbs for 1st and 2nd batches? Also if u harvest in the morning do you keep bubbling the bbs eggs and feed from that same bottle at night? Also when u put the gbr eggs with pot into white bowl you add methylene blue. Do you change water before eggs hatch or leave them until they hatch? When all eggs are hatched what do you do next? When do you start 1st feeding to newborn fry? Could you do a video of next step from eggs hatching in bowl?

I use a container a day of bbs, so yes I use the same one at night. I don't do water changes until I start feeding. first feeding when fry free swim

@@CrowntailHalfmoon Some people really need to learn how to listen! He uses one batch of brine shrimp morning and night then after the night feed he cleans that bottle and puts new eggs in, the next day he feeds the other batch of bbs while the newer one is hatching then repeat daily. Its not rocket science!
What if my room temperature is not high enough, how can I heat the water ?

just use aquarium heaters

Excellent video and channel! thanks for all the info! A couple of questions if you don't mind; - How often are you changing the water in the containers? and how much approx 50% changes? - When you pull the eggs and add the meth blue 3 drops; How long until you do the first water change? Will you re-add the meth blue or do your water changes eventually remove it? - What's the temp of your fish room? I assume that's heating these containers? For a home aquarist would a desk lamp be fine over the top? Or should I get heating pads for under the container? Cheers!
