This man explains the best way. If you listen to the gym’s trainers, they don’t explain the correct way of training to the clients. It’s a shame.

Awesome video, one thing I’ve noticed about training chest is that the vast majority of guys with awesome chests tend to not finish the range of motion, they stop short. Most of the guys with weaker chests (amongst pro bodybuilders) tend to emphasise the contractile portion of the lift. Examples- Arnold Ronnie Brandon Branch Franco vs Nick Regan Antoine Luke

My front delts almost attach to my neck (hyperbole), so this explains why when I flare my elbows out (high elbow) I always end up with shoulder impingements. According to your breakdown around 5 minutes, I probably have a upper chest that can develop with a somewhat mid-elbow approach since my delts are attaching close to neck. The angle you keep coming to reminds me of a hammer strength super-incline.

@@HypertrophyCoach I've heard that reverse grip bench press/push up is better at activating the upper chest even more than the incline bench press (30% more for reverse grip vs 5% more for incline than the flat bench). Is it true or just a myth? And is the reverse grip safe?

I never really felt good upper chest growth from doing inclines, i feel a low in the shoulders, both in low incline and 45 degrees incline. What do you think of Doug Brignole ideas of the decline being better to target overall chest without much shoulders involvement? including upper chest

  • @schinski108

It’s not about incline-it’s about arm path. Incline isn’t necessary but it does help align the upper arm with the clavicular fibers of your chest.
