Alien Facehugger Model: I intended to put the link I found for the facehugger model here. However, after looking into it a bit further I found that the facehugger cast I found on etsy is a recast of someone else's work. I am a big supporter of those who create props and take the time to cast these as kits for sale to others in the makers space. So unfortunately, since I can not confirm that this cast is original I won't be able to post a link for that kit.

    We have 30 or 40 of these in our lab, They're all different. Each manufacturer has its own design and power requirements. It all depends on which off-planet supplier you get them from and exactly what kind of creature your putting in stasis.

    Brian, The origin of the part you questioned is used in combustion but not on an automobile engine. The part is a combustion air blower from a residential Carrier furnace. I was extremely happy to see you use the blower housing to contain the Facehugger. Awesome job!!! Also, I'd like to give kudos to your folks for making an awesome Chubby Geek from nothing.

    Another Greebly source you might want to consider - get to know the physical plant and science department of a local college. I used to work for a small college and they threw out * tons * of stuff..Contact them, tell them who you are and what you want the stuff for, and you will likely get a response. They may even save stuff for you. Many colleges have surplus sales as well. It's worth looking into. Old lab glassware makes great props...any college physical plant has tons of scrap...just a thought.

    Well I would make a mold of this one and make the new one out of latex. After all they do have more then one in the movie. It would take allot more thinking threw. If had the money I would build a full ship and make it actually simulate things like space flight and ship operation. But I would make it so that I could make any ship simulate flight including the Falcon. But I am just a poor boy. Also if I ever get my Quacer Productions project off the ground I would love your help.

    I built eggs years ago using chicken wire, paper mache, and plastic bags from the grocery store. If you cut the bags down the side and flame kiss them with a torch (takes some practice) they wrinkle up and look a lot like the skin on the outside of the eggs.

    Loving your videos! Any chance you could let us know a few more details on how you glued / lined up / measured the acrylic to fit? I'm looking to do something similar for "Luke's Hand", but also reminiscent of one used in Doctor Who.

  • @TheSmugglersRoom

    @TheSmugglersRoom

    4 жыл бұрын

    Robert Porter hey there, thank you! Do you mean measurements to fit the wood inserts I made? If so, I made the acrylic tube by using the concrete form in the video, then I measured the diameter of the acrylic tune I formed, and then cut the circle inserts to fit perfectly. As far as glue, I just used Weld-On for acrylic. There are different types of Weld-On for different materials. This was Weld On 3. But you could check your material and type before you get it. Hope that helps!
