Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

Today we get a call from my future self asking us to turn a normal phone case into a datapad that can be used at Disney's new Star Wars Galaxys Edge theme park. We are all too eager to help our future self with this awesome quick project!

Wanted to do a test run of this as other than painting D&D minis this entire thing is new to me. Struck on an idea … got two dollar store plastic kids phone. Grabbed some grab bag plastic pieces from a hobby train shop. And my niece and nephew designed the backs of their own toy datapads. We are going to go thru each step you show with those first so I can especially get used to the techniques. The kids have loved being the designers and left the grownup steps to me. What a great site. So glad I found you.

I think I will save this venture for when I can eventually get to Batuu….as a means to get psyched up for the trip. And I’m pondering the price savings of Colgate, as it can leave an unintentional stain and instead giving the liquid latex a try.

Since you are online and have just gave a huge HEART from my comment on another video, I went back to this one, made sure to THUMB UP, and mention that these are really cool cases also. I have seen on other videos instead of using that latex based material for chipping, another idea (especially for airbrushing) is to first lay down your undercoat (like the silver in this case ... case?!?) to then use a non aerosol type of hairspray in the airbrush, then paint your top coat, and chip away the areas you used the hairspray on. This is a cheap and effective way to make even less pronounced chipping effects where you may want to have chipping in the edges or in recessed areas. Thanks again for the heart, I think I am going to subscribe too, I like your style, kid!

If you have any ideas on portable display and set pieces that would make a great photo op, and easily transport (Lighting, Staging, Props, projector holograms etc.) I'd love to get your thoughts on that. Years ago, I worked at a small college, and one " nerd dorm" had a " Junkyard Jedi" party. The body of the light saber was a common, readily available 99 cent flashlight from K - Mart ( this was about a decade before Walmart became the retail juggernaut that it is now). Greeblify it however you wanted. They also had a mid Winter Citizens of Mos Eisley party - create your own costume, name and backstory ( one of the girl's dorms created awesome outfits). Lotta cool things from junk..

I watched several of these videos and although the cases are all unique your “tutorial” was great! Picked up a new trick with that masking fluid.... Thanks for that... Made mine out of an x-wing and y-wing model kit and a cases from the dollar tree! (an iPhone 6s Plus and an iPhone 11 Pro Max) they came out great!! Wish I could add a pics... the cost of the build (not counting the airbrush 🤫) was only around $20 and that got me 2 cases
