    Man, I made this exact p rail but it had to be stored in my Florida garage and in less than 2 months the legs warped and it rocks instead of sitting flat.

    I just built this today for $25. Its a good idea to put a chunk of 1.5 inch wood under the middle so it doesnt snap in half!

  • @SpookyBoots

    @SpookyBoots

    I've considered it. But I really don't think it will break like that. I usually carry this rail around by myself to skate spots so if I put legs in the middle it will make carrying it more awkward than it already is.

    Very nice project! Thanks for the list in the description. Want to build something like that to practice grinds while I work from home. Do you think a bigger radius pipe would be better for frames with bigger groove (Oysi)?

  • @SpookyBoots

    @SpookyBoots

    4 жыл бұрын

    No problem! You could go bigger if you wanted and I think it will be just as good. I believe the Oysi frames have a nice wide groove kind of like the Aeons I'm riding. A bigger PVC will be closer to your inside wheels. But with all that wheel bite protection I don't think it will really matter. I think it only really matters if you're looking to do negative tricks. The bigger the pipe the harder negative tricks start to become.

    So after a few months, have you had any issues with this design? I like it because it's simple. How are the L brackets holding up?

  • @SpookyBoots

    @SpookyBoots

    None at all! I just had a good and long session on it just the other too. The rail is still up right and the brackets are not bending. I'm really happy with how it turned out. I thought that maybe I would have to tighten the screws after a few months but haven't had to yet.

  • @SpookyBoots

    @SpookyBoots

    4 жыл бұрын

    No I haven't had any issues with the PVC I don't know why it would be moving on you like that. I think I started at one end and made my way to the other making sure the pipe wasn't twisted or anything like that. Could it be started with a warped pipe?

  • @SpookyBoots

  • @SpookyBoots

    @SpookyBoots

    So I believe I used 2-in wood screws for drilling the legs into the 2x6 and in terms of L brackets I think I used one and a half I think.

    Yo man I noticed the PVC pipe isn't sliding very good, i mean it slides for fronside/backside but my soul plates are sticking do I need a certain type of wax you think?

  • @SpookyBoots

    @SpookyBoots

    3 жыл бұрын

    I just use regular skate wax. If you just built it, it will need a break in period. They don't slide amazing right away. After it's broken in make sure to clean it every once in a while too. Or else old wax and dirt will build up.

  • @SpookyBoots

    Boardslides, Tailslides, and Noseslides should be fine. However I have 50-50 this rail before and it's not the greatest if you're kingpins are longer than the trucks. Also it's PVC so it's relatively soft and I've noticed that really beat up jagged trucks can sink into it and stop you.

    I haven't had any issues yet with the L brackets bending or breaking. There is a lot of flex to the rail being designed like this but it's nothing too crazy. I like the height I get with this design also I think it's more lightweight vs the triangular design. I recommend building for what fits your needs best.
