How to Build a Grind Box!
Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль
How to Build a Grind Box. Build this REALLY Easy, but AWESOME Grind Box.! A grind box, or a skate box is a must for any skater. The grind box in this video is not only very easy to build but it can be made in under a day and with minimal tools. This grind box also has wheels that makes it incredibly easy for the kids to move around. The coping is galvanized steel with a slightly rounded formed edge. This makes for an ultra-smooth grind! The skate surface is thick plywood, which makes for a very solid and tough grind box. The framework for the grind box is made from indestructible 4 x 2's. The only way this skate box is breaking down is if it catches fire!

The Materials You'll Require Are:
Eight 4 x 2 (90mm x 35mm). These are used to frame up the grind box.
One sheet of plywood. 8ft x 4ft (2400mm x 1200mm) x ¾ inch (17mm). This is used as the outside skin of the grind box.
Two lengths of 2 inch x 2 inch (50mm x 50mm) x 8ft (2400mm) angle iron. This is used as the coping for the grind box. Please note that l used angle iron that was galvanized (to prevent it from rusting) and it had a formed edge which means that the angle was slightly rolled so that the edge wasn't as sharp which is kinder to your deck and to your body just in case you fall on it.
One box (50 in a box) of 3 inch (75mm) exterior grade screws. These are used to put the frame of the grind box together.
One box (50 in a box) of 60mm exterior grade screws to screw the uprights to the Grind Box Frame.
One box (100 in a box) of an inch and a quarter (30mm) exterior grade screws. These are used to screw the angle iron to the grind box and the ply to the frame.
Two non-swivel wheels.
One litre (quart) of Marine Grade, Satin Varnish. This is used to paint the plywood once it's finished.
Tools:
Tape Measure.
Pencil,
Cordless, or powered drill.
No.2 Phillips head driver bit.
Circular saw, drop saw, or hand saw.
1/8TH all-purpose drill bit.
10mm, or 7/16th metal drill bit for countersinking the holes in the coping.
Cheap Paintbrush.
Skill Level: 2 out of 5.
Time to Complete. One day for the absolute novice.
Price: I'm reluctant to quote a price as every country is different and not all materials are of the same quality.
Happy Skating and don't forget to Subscribe to my channel and thumbs up the video.
Cheers, Uncle Knackers
