Replying to my own comment? Yes. lol Two attempts at this method spaced a few days apart. No dice. My female is too aggressive and the male works too hard (not eating enough) to keep up with "improving" the nest for her "acceptance." I do not have to work as hard at breeding my puffers! Nothing is required usually but a tentative hobbyist.

Even if the Betta pairs don't breed that day you released the female, it's ok to leave the female with the male as long the male isn't to aggressive towards the female. It usually takes 2 to 3 days for them to spawn. Anyways cool video 👍

Same like we breeders in SEA does. And for us, after 2/3 weeks old we will move the spawn into bigger container that we call growth container. If there are too many fries we divide them into two separate container to promote faster growth.

Btw feed them before the release.. it will help a lot to prevent the male eating the fry or eggs. . happy fish keeping 😊

Get some small PCV pipe joins, L or T shaped, and put them in the tanks/Bins on the other side from the nest so when they breed and you're not there, the female has a place to hide and not get shredded/killed before you get to remove her.

Hi people 🙂👋. This is a great clip- it’s both well presented and produced. What I probably like best is the presenter’s charisma and honesty. As someone who has been breeding bettas in Australia for going on 8 years or so, , there’s a few things I would probably add for someone new to the hobby. Yes, breeding can be easy (not always unfortunately). But so is becoming a parent . Pretty much anyone can do it. The real challenges arise from birth onwards. So too with bettas. Keepingfishsimple seems to have gotten the first bit right, but I’m not sure he has completely gotten his head around the entire process. But I’m sure with experience and time he will become an even more successful and established breeder. I’m looking forward to seeing more of his clips in the future. Keep up the good work keepingfishsimple 🙂🙏👍!

Are those led flood lights on your racks? Is kmart still around down there? Good video, what about tank maintnence and growing out?
