    Awesome video! I have a couple of questions. When your male is in the tank for the first 3 days, do you keep a light on 24/7 so he can pick up the fry all the time? My other question is when you start feeding the vinegar eels or infusoria, what is your feeding schedule? Does this change when you switch over to BBS? Oh and 1 more question, did you have to use multiple disc BBS hatcheries to have a continuous supply of BBS? I have one and it works awesome but wondering if 1 is enough. Thanks so much!

    I can definitely answer this for you! I do not leave the light on for the male. I do the same light/dark cycle as my other tanks. I’ve has no issue getting hundreds of fry still. I try and feed 3-4 times a day. Normally I get 3 times at this age. I just look at their stomachs and feed once their no longer full. Pretty much stays the same form the beginning. Once they get older I will feed even more often to get some faster growth. I’m able to store some baby brine in the fridge for the 12hr it takes me to hatch new brine shrimp. In the past i have also run 2 hatcheries and offset them to always have fresh hatched bbs.

    Not if you want to breed no. You will end up starving a good portion of the spawn and not get good survival rates

    I only have access to bloodworms so what should i do with frys?

  • @pnwbettas

    @pnwbettas

    26 күн бұрын

    Not breed honestly. Bloodworms won’t be sufficient food for bettas this small, they won’t be able to eat them. I also wouldn’t suggest feeding one food like that from this small of an age. Having live cultures like vinegar eels and hatching out baby brine shrimp are pretty essential in my opinion. They need live food small enough for them to eat.

    One possibility is that you are feeding too much and they aren’t all getting eaten. You want to make sure you remove any uneaten dead ones off the bottom of the fry tank.

    tannins. search up "blackwater aquariums." basically, there are some plants/organic materials (stuff like leaves and wood) you can put in water that will release lots of tannins, which turns the water dark. it looks dirty, but it actually has health benefits for the fish, like preventing fungal diseases. i don't think you can use just any organic material to create the effect though; a common example is indian almond leaves
