Heyy, I know this vid was 2 years ago, but I'm planning on adopting a Betta. I want to save one of the poor lethargic little guys from petco and give him a better life. Do you recommend anything for switching them out of the old pet store water and into the new? Is it possible to shock them or is it best to just put him right in there? I don't want to do anything to stress out little Fishington.

Ummm... 1st step SCRAPE OFF ALL OF THE OLD SILICONE WITH A RAZOR. 2nd step CLEAN ALL SURFACES WITH ACETONE OR ALCOHOL. 3rd steps... everything else she said. (Never "reseal" ontop of old silicone.)

Thank you for sharing. I made the biggest mistake of my life I paid $60 for koi female betta fish . I have a 10-gallon tank a female Dumbo betta fish. I acclimated the bag to the water temperature in the tank. After 20 minutes I released the koi female betta fish into the 10 gallon tank and world war III commenced. 🥹🥹🥹😭 Both bettas are the same size.. I rescued my female koi betta fish that cost me $60 and placed her into a 5 gallon aquarium now I am trying to focus on her healing her fins. What a challenge.

The smallest I would ever recommend is 5 females in a 20+ gallon tank. They are still aggressive fish, and you have to treat it as an aggressive fish tank setup. So you kinda have to go away from the bettas in smaller tank setups for these guys

😂 bruh my betta loves flying into the stream. I turned it down but when I saw her continuously trying to swim into it so I turned it up a little bit. I have a little bubble machine in the corner and she’s always in that corner trying to swim at it

I only have access to bloodworms so what should i do with frys?

Not breed honestly. Bloodworms won’t be sufficient food for bettas this small, they won’t be able to eat them. I also wouldn’t suggest feeding one food like that from this small of an age. Having live cultures like vinegar eels and hatching out baby brine shrimp are pretty essential in my opinion. They need live food small enough for them to eat.

I source my boxes much differently now, as I’m shipping in much larger quantities and have a commercial space :) I order from glacier pac (only ships to commercial locations I think), or Uline molded boxes in the skid lots. Then I order the outer box part separately from them as well. I have the uline ones linked under my axolotl shipping video!

i kept my first betta fish ina bowl, i had him for about 4yrs before he did pass, i would feed him (Tetra Betta-BettaMin) twice 3-4 pellets in the morning & another 3-4 pellets before bed, and i would clean his bowl every 4-5 days , and i would make sure too not (shock) dump all the dirty water out, i would leave at least 2-3 fl oz of his dirty water (with the fish in there) like in a cup ) so that way , so that way the fish wouldn't struggle adjusting to the new water, i mean yes the bowl isnt fully clean but at least it doesnt look dirty just slightly murky

just a question; why do you open them over the sink and not another bucket? im just asking because if they fall in the sink it would be more problematic then falling in a bucket already filled with water.

The sink has a drain plug

I have a silicone drain cover. It’s soft and won’t cause any damage to the fish if they fall.

Do you always have no lids or do you take them off for your videos?

It depends on the aquarium. For wild types and plakats I always have tight lids and covered gaps. With halfmoons I don’t always use a lid

On tubs you should always do 100%. An aquarium is different, but in most cases you can also do 90+% water changes. Most of the information saying to avoid large water changes comes from a misunderstanding of how nitrifying bacteria work, and how a cycled tank is maintained.
