    Thank you for this one person brake bleeding system demo. Your detailed explanation on the proper bleeding sequence was a tremendous help for me as well. I was having the same caliper sticking problem on my 1993 YJ project car. You saved me a lot of extra work and worry! Carry On Sir!

    Just bought a Jeep and live in remote Alaska where mechanics are few and far between. And when you can find a mechanic appointments are weeks out and ask for your firstborn as payment lol. Thanks for the awesome, informative, and helpful video. Much appreciated!

    In Birmingham Alabama, the mechanic rate on average is about $150 an hour and I have seen it over $180 an hour in a specialty shop like a 4x4 shop.

    Does it matter if you use dot3 or dot4 brake fluid when you flush the master cylinder

  • @rudyfinney9450

    Could you push the caliper Piston in and out a couple times to possibly free it up and break up possible rust inside along with fluid replacement and not have to replace caliper? I Know calipers aren't all that expensive and it's probably better to just replace them, but out of curiosity was hoping to get your opinion.

    I suppose its possible, but it would be a gamble as to when it starts giving you trouble again. With the possibility of being stranded its not worth the risk. Have a great day!

    Hey buddy... How long did you cut your hose for your bleeder bottle???

  • @Poweraddicts

    @Poweraddicts

    4 жыл бұрын

    Hey man!! Overall length is around 2 feet or so. The length is mainly determined by making sure you have enough tubing to be higher than the bleeder screw and a place to put the bottle. Good to see ya again!! Have a great day!!

    You either have a bad master cylinder or you still have air in the system.

    Been doing bleeding for 50+ years. Only way to safely do it is either push it thru from top of master with a pump and attachment that fits flush. Little expensive. Or use a small diagnosis vacuum pump. I made my own jar with a qt heavy Mason drilling the lid for the high hose and the bleed hose down in fluid. What this does is it keeps you from destroying the master by pushing the cup seals into the area that has pits and crud that has built up. If it is a brand new master, then your method is cool. When you use vacuum, go slow. Those v cup seals in master and cylinder on drum breaks exert tremendous pressure one way. The other, it is easy to suck air back under them.
