I always thought it was a bad idea that she explains, "I know you're the killer, and you poisoned this cupcake." Maybe playing dumb ("Thanks for the cupcake! Here’s a thought. The killer doesn’t know you’re looping. Right before they get you, say “I won’t resist if you just show me your face before you kill me”. Solid chance it works IMO

I've kind of been confused about why she didnt continue hammering the killer when they were down. Killing Carter is kind of a massive gamble, mostly due to the fact that as we know, whenever the killed individual comes back it's always right back to square one, with everyone's memories being brought back to that exact point. If he *does* come back, he might take the killing personally and, well. Now you're stuck in an even worse loop.

There'd be no reason to take it personally as it would be highly unbelievable that the murder actually happened, especially since he's well up and awake after getting murdered. Eventually it would've come down to explaining to him what happened exactly with that specific time loop and why you killed him, which i believe that he could rationalize as he experienced the loop himself, and help you with a plan to catch the killer and have both of you alive.

The fact that you killed him is to take a gamble wether he could help or not, and i'd find it hard to believe somebody would just plot against you because you killed them in a previous loop because you need their help? Considering how she’s able to dodge and also land critical hits on the murderer, I’m disappointed that she didn’t continue slamming the hell out of the murderer when she had the chance! Not only is it self defense (and can be proven with evidence) she can also find out the murderer’s identity.
Something I thought of that went unmentioned was during the loop where Thresea used the key fob to find the doctor's car and use it to escape. The second time she uses it, both her and the killer realize exactly where she needs to go and both make a mad dash toward the car. My idea would have been to use the fob, but stay quiet and don't move. This would force the killer to move toward the car while she could quietly move back into the stairwell or even further down the parking garage to escape on foot. Since we know that no one else is around, we don't even need to see the killer move away. Simply listening to their footsteps either advancing or receding would give a clear enough picture to have an accurate enough location on them(enough to prevent them sneaking up on her).

The thing about this time loop power is that we will still have to put "staying alive" as our top priority. The reason is that there is no guarantee that there isn't a cap on the number of times we are allowed to die, or the power won't just randomly switch off, resulting in us dying for real.

I think the first step to beating this time loop...is to not back off when you get a good hit on the killer. Keep swinging! Fight or flight is definitely a tough thing to deal with. But no matter the tracking ability, but the killer in this case is clearly sloppy and should be just straight up beatable. Heck, even if somehow the hammer fails in this case she can at least prepare a better weapon. The only issue I'd have with the "run away and live free" option is that there's no way to know if the loops continue after that day. Escaping the killer immediately is fine, but if they still catch up to her later and the looping magic is gone...uh oh.

I'm glad you did this movie, which is much harder since Tree is already trying out a lot of different ways to survive. You had to come up with ways out of the loop that she hadn't already tried. This movie reminds me of a series that was on for like a season and a half ( back when you had about 22 shows a year) called "Tru Calling". It starred Eliza Dushku (Faith from BtVS) as a morgue worker who had the power to go back in time when one of the corpses came in and asked for help. She essentially had to do what Tree did, which is remember details from her day, then find the person who died and try to prevent it from happening again, using just the information she gleaned from their body before her day rewound and started over. It was a fun concept so I was sad it didn't last longer as a series.

You can't immediately conclude you're in a death loop, especially if it's the first time it happened
Let's do this on HARD MODE, 3 strikes and you're out. We start with loop#1 since this entire thing is rather new it would probably have no investigation done and considered just a bad dream. In the end the best thing we can get out of loop#1 is a slightly different route and confirmation of the loop. Loop#2 is the point were shit hits the fan. You have confirmation and have to address the following questions: - Can you break the loop? - How to break the loop? - Does the loop end if you reach the next morning? - Who is the killer? - Are you even alive or is this you limbo and you are supposed to die over and over again? Let's cross a couple questions. We can remove No.1&5 because there is no way to confirm them other than breaking the loop. No.3 is a pure gamble, you could jump back even weeks after you survive the night. This leaves us with No.2&4 who go hand in hand. You have no possible way to understand the loop but you know the killer will restart it, so your only solution right at this moment is to find the killer. Every potential aftermath is out of your hand unless you get rid of that constant. So you probably just wasted half of your last day figuring that stuff out, what next? Your timeline at this point is likely already altered, so you can't rely on a consistent trap but you haven't played your trump card yet. *Misinformation* Analyse the last two days, where were you and did you see potential suspects. Lure them into place by announcing you are first visiting a crowded place but after that a private silent location. Secure the private location the moment you spread that information. You can't go to the police in advance, it just might get you killed a month later, help is also not an option unless you 150% can rule out a suspect. I'm not saying go full blown Home Alone but cleaning chemicals can mix to some really toxic gas for example, just get creative, not everyone has access to guns. Lastly the backup plan: Visit an internet cave, school computer or any other non traceable devise and leave your story. You might die that night forever but never underestimate the power of 3 million 4chan users finding your killer!

There's a chance that all those time loops took a toll on her and so she might think her memory might become impaired so therefore she wrote them down again to make sure she knew they were crossed off?
ty for blurring the dead bodies and the simplest things like cuts. u helped me sleep tonight.
Bro you keep on releasing bangers I can't keep up
This movie and its sequel were so fun, I didn't expect much from them when I watched it, but it was a great viewing experience. I hope you'll tackle Freaky, it's from the same director, and it's about a girl switching bodies with the killer trying to get her.
Also she had at least 2 instances where she could have killed or incapacitated the killer(club and hammer) but chose to run instead
This is the power of Requiem.
If you can predict your killer's move, this is literally a massive advantage
During one of the time loops when she died from the explosion, you can see the cupcake candle in the killers hand which gave it away for me.

It is a different colored candle tho. The killer blew her up with a blue candle and the cupcake had a red candle. But ig it could be a clue too

Hey, I just finished watching your video and a lot of the points you made are great, though I think this question needs to be asked. That is, is there any indication that the loop will continue after her birthday is over? I mean it could be a one time thing linked to her birthday meaning she would have to die on her birthday in order for it to take effect, or it could just be a one and done thing and never happen again on her birthday or otherwise meaning the running away strategy might not be a viable solution if this is the case.
I hate watching horror movie or death game movie because it’s always really long and the people are sometimes very stupid but you made me love them and now I’m watching movies by your video, thank you
I love this movie I'm glad you're covering it but there's going to be some confusion in the second one
Keep note that these methods of surviving is only aplicable if you have the same odds as hers, and that includes; 1. Extroverted life 2. Lots of friends 3. A good one night stand 4. A doctor who'd do just about anything 5. Lives in campus (or any suburban area, really) 6. Carter I think it'd be more interesting if we're to survive the time loops (or any future life-threatening occasion really) with our own life circumstances.

How does Cinema Summary notice so much detail in one scene? That is quite literally a talent.
@manceenee0071

he probably rewatches scenes multiple times and stays hours thinking to possible solutions. and thats why it would be impossible to survive any horror movie, because no one could think about those ideas especially when under pressure, have no time to think and have 1 life (because unlike this movie, in other ones u have just one try). so all the ideas he makes would be useless he just make protagonists look dumb cuz they couldn't get it

Movie commentators spend hours rewatching movies scene by scene before doing a review. You don't want to overlook details.
@joao34386

Like the other said it involves repeated rewatching, but there’s also a difference in watching a movie for entertainment compared to watching it for analysis. It’s common for people who work on movies to be unable to enjoy movies for entertainment, because instead of seeing the film in a flat manner, they instead automatically notice the design process and how those affect the results. You might see a big explosion and think “woah, such a cool explosion”, but a VFX artist would see the explosion and instead notice what errors there were, whether the lighting or shading was accurate, how it was framed in the scene, and other technical aspects. Same happens with literature and video games - when you become a creator, you see everything through a creator’s perspective, which is very different than that of an average consumer/watcher.

One of the horrifying horror movies i genuinely think i could survive Edit: also very confused as to why the doctor was ever even considered a suspect after we watched him be murdered by the killer.
you know some may say? When you put your aggressor down. If you can, make sure he won't get up that easy, with much pain as necessary. That mean, keep hitting it down until it really won't get back up.
I’m gonna like all of your videos
" With no idea she was about to get brutally murdered" That is how brutal murders work some of the time.
26:50 But wait, if you killing him DID trigger a loop for him as well. The loops end when you kill your killer right? After he’s done solving your loop, he’d have to kill you to get out of his, if the logic was consistent. Sure he wouldn’t be killed every day like you, but at the end of his life he’d end up back on your birthday and probably wouldn’t appreciate that after 1-10 loops.
Man, getting stuck in a timeloop where I die every single time would suck.
I probably wouldn't have survived just because all the correct moves pointed out in the video are things I probably wouldn't think of until it was a bit late. Like nobody knows how to open my phone (what year did this come out? I know there was a time when anybody could open a phone) so my ring tone being changed would be the least crazy thing about being in a fricking time loop with Boss Baby murdering me for no reason. Similarly I only remember my phone has GPS when I'm ordering a pizza or something but not from home. I ask someone the address but the phone already knows where food is. Honestly knowing how the time loop works to the extent that she seems to figure out pretty quick I would try to narrow down a list of people I did trust and then put us in a backs to the wall scenario. Someone who is mostly using traps, ambushes and melee weapons is unlikely to have the means to break into a secure location and take down multiple targets. Its not like you can pop out and get a grenade and I don't care what kind of gun you have the odds of you hitting me through a wall/door even a bush is fairly low. Don't believe me? Something light, close your eyes and toss it at the nearest door or something you won't break. See how close to the target you are. I just would have forced a fight.
