    I do like how Saw X takes a look at earlier Jigsaw, where we see his pettier torture fantasies but he's only actually going after people who have screwed him over. Compare that to later-Jigsaw, who has so much less hope for surviving his cancer and who is killing people for cheating or tax evasion.

  • @mhsmci_edits

    I agree with the first half of the what you said but the last part I disagree with. He would definitely drive Amanda to the hospital because the whole point of SAW is to teach them a lesson and that’s what Jigsaw did. Also most of his traps are easy to avoid… just don’t do bad stuff. Don’t scam, don’t cheat, don’t steal, just don’t be bad and you won’t find yourself in a trap.

  • @spookylittlebat5208

    @spookylittlebat5208

    @@mhsmci_editsHe’s put people in traps for cutting themselves, being a smoker, calling in sick for work, caring too much about their job, and just plain being associated with somebody who’s done something “wrong” even if they haven’t themselves. Like, what about the guys that girl cheated on? They were already victims of her cheating and now they’re Jigsaw victims. And what about the lady who was abused by her husband? Not only was she victimised by her husband, but now she’s victimised by Jigsaw too. John Kramer makes some morally questionable choices often enough. Should he really be your judge, jury, and executioner? He just has the advantage over the likes of his apprentices, as he, at least, designs his traps to be survivable and genuinely wants to teach his victims to appreciate life. But, that’s really the lesser of two evils, not actually good.

I mean in the first movie he puts Adam in a trap for what? because his job is to be a private investigator/photographer and John personally doesn't like that profession? He literally gives people barely any chance either, he enjoys having control and a feeling of moral superiority which is based on delusion.

    Do you play piano by any chance? My joints are generally not flexible (trained karate and never got anywhere near a leg split, so i'm stringy by design), but by training as pianist and organist since age 7, my hand fingers can do 90* backwards with ease. It would still hurt and probably brake something if all 5 fingers were bent simultaneously or over that stright angle. Only thing, i seriously doubt the sturdiness and reliability of that wired device (metal has eough flex not to be precise in that setup). And most of other trap devices John "made" are dubious at best, giving countless points of failure (as they're custom made and can't be extensively tested) or sabotage by a technically savvy person. Ex.g. to stop the wire saw cutting your head it was enough to push the wire out of the cog grooves and get it behind her neck. John have to be at least a lifelong metalworker, genius designer, material science, electronics, pneumatics, hydraulics, chemistry, explosives, anatomy, biology and psychology expert, posessing massive resources and a hefty machine, electronics and chemical shops etc. to pull off even half of his traps. All while professionally avoiding LEO and public scrutiny without making unpredictable mistakes. That's why this is just a sadistic movie, no matter how gritty and practical it looks.

    The galvanized cables that John was referring to were the ones that he’d used to stitch the pipe bombs into Diego’s arms, not the wires connected to the pin triggers. Also, the timers on the bombs didn’t actually start until the end of Diego’s instructional tape, so it’s more likely that the timers on the bombs are activated remotely and pulling the pins just prepped them for activation. It’s unlikely that anyone is coming to look for the four scammers. Mexico City has a very high rate of missing persons cases.

    Something I wonder about the brain surgery trap is if brain matter specifically is needed to be put in the solution. What enzyme is in the solution? And what’s the end product being measured to release the key? Is there an enzyme that specifically breaks down brain matter that wouldn’t break down other biological material, such as flesh? Is it a protease? Is it measuring amino acids? Also, I imagined that trap to play out as Matteo doing the deed and the key being released, but his motor functions being impaired, making him unable to actually pick up the key and use it successfully. Still would’ve ticked the boxes of showing us him playing the game and the trap ultimately going off anyway, just with an extra cruel twist. Like, why even set up the trap that way, as opposed to the trap automatically releasing upon completion, if not for the extra step to come into play?

    @@songbirdrebel5895 most of the jigsaw traps are very unfair lol breaking 5 fingers is nothing compared to everything else... the first trap would have like a 99% survival rate and only idiots would stop after 3 fingers... even if we assume that you cant just break all 5 at once but you would do 1 by 1 as fast as you can regardless of pain because you wanna survive, the brain surgery one in comparison is unbeatable because UNLESS you are a real brain surgeon... you would be unable to take chunks of brain out without forever making you braindead or crippled or worse.... thats like jigsaw saying cut out your heart and put it on a scale to survive great... basically the brain surgery trap was a guaranteed death sentence regardless if you complete it or not he shouldve just cut his own throat instead of trying quicker death as he was doomed from start

  • @haileym5912
    @haileym59123 ай бұрын

    Valentina had the easiest death, but she also deserved to live given she would have survived had she had a few more seconds. I feel like if John was a bit more redeemable he would've let Valentina free because the time putting on the tourniquet was the only reason she failed. Mateo's trap I think was just unfair because he was given 3(?) minutes but not told how long it would take for the enzymes to dissolve his brain matter. How long would it take? His timer should have been to put the brain matter into the beaker, not including the time for it to dissolve. Then it would've been more fair. A few seconds would have saved him from a brutal death, seconds wasted just WAITING. Gabriela I really felt bad for, and it was nice to see that like with the driver, she passed her challenge and John IMMEDIATELY went to try to help and save her which is something we don't usually get to see but it's good that he tried. I discovered ofc that with most Saw traps...I would not bother trying. The driver? Naw, I'm hoping these pipe bombs kill me. Cut off my leg? Naw, good thing decapitation may be quick for me. Brain matter? I'm gonna off myself with these tools instead so I don't have to die an agonizing death. Gabriela? I guess she had no better options to get out of this but I guess I'd do whatever sooner ends my pain. Bloodboarding? I guess I'd have to kill myself so I didn't have to essentially kill someone else, but that sounds awful. Same with the lover's quarrel thing. I would not be able to kill someone else to save myself unless maybe they were like a monster of some sort. But yeah no most traps I would just...let kill me or I would off myself so I could have a less painful death

    @JR-bu7we the decapitation specifically. My point was just that she and Mateo both would've survived of not for the technicalities of time dissolving and time putting on a tourniquet. I knoiw it might seem crazy but did you know that its possible to take off your pants, slide through the restraints and turn off the vacuum with your foot, then just find a way to get out lmao. (btw i know it was just a dream)

    I enjoyed this movie as it was more story heavy than most instalments but what grinds my gears is it now kinda messes up when “the first game” began. Whether a big group game or a smaller game of 1-2 people, it messes up Jigsaw’s beginning. They can’t keep the story coherent nor let Kramer die off

    I actually thought there was hope for John and boy how wrong I was lol I loved this movie and I was so glad to see Tobin Bell again as Jigsaw aka John Kramer. It's such a great role that he does and this time the story was a whole lot better and the traps were great! My only gripes were with some of the practical effects and some of the cuts and edits they take you out of the movies immersion but I thought this was definitely the right Saw movie to write. Finally. I mean I think it is even better to see more times in which John tried cures for his cancer. If there were movies of different times John tried to cure his cancer and this Saw X being the final movie would tie things nicely. Like this was his final chance at trying to rid himself of cancer and how he ended up being open to trying this like in this movie. So if there were other times John tried and failed and ended up being unable to ever get hope and like the puppets origin or something, I am not a writer (clearly) would just like to see more of these type of traps but have them be easter eggs of like the productions or stunt teams favorite traps so like let's say there was a second notebook that as John made the drawings it was just equations, measurements, miscellaneous design and have it just clear up some of the origin. I'd personally like to see Tobin Bell i.e Jigsaw do have an actual successor because I think the concepts of these movies especially the first few just had a really unique hook on the horror movies at the time with a really compelling character John Kramer and what philosophies were challeged so if something could clean those up more, make definitive rules for how people end up in the traps and how they go unresolved or solved and kind of the detective side of how someone would capture Jigsaw I think would be pretty interesting to see. TLDR; I liked this format for the Saw movies, good step in the right direction.

    Unpopular opinion. If you absolutely must scam someone, is it not best to scam someone terminal? 🤔

    the issue here wasnt the money, he didnt care about being scammed out of money, he cared about being scammed out with the hope of survival... they promised him that the surgery would make him survive his terminal illness... scamming someone out of their hope of life is the part that is so wrong not the money...
