After I filmed and edited I noticed a patch on my forehead that wasn't blended perfectly and if you look up close you'll see no foundation around the skin of my mustache - which looks red! In real life, I couldn't see these things! That's why 4K is so scary!

I needed this tip! Thank you! 💕. Update: couldn't sleep and it's 4:30 a.m. because I just had to try this technique so I dug out my professional makeup brushes which I don't believe I ever used. I finally got used to using sponges but before that I always applied foundation with my fingers so using tools felt odd to me. However, I had to try this technique with the foundation and I am just amazed at the result. I didn't even have to build it, one thin layer dried perfectly and I feel like I don't even need powder. Which is good because at my age, 56 the powder just makes my skin look cakey. So glad to see this video come in. I dreaded doing my foundation but now I'm excited about it. And that says something because it's 4:30 a.m. 😂 Thanks Wayne. You're videos are so informative and watchable. Some KZread makeup videos are just too much drama. Thank you for being normal. Lol

THANK YOU! Finally someone doing an amazing job of a makeup tutorial, plus the technique is mind blowing! I just followed along and my foundation has never, ever, looked this good. It is so natural looking, it feels like I have nothing on, and the coverage is better than ever. It doesn't make sense that those 3 things can coexist in a foundation application, but it's literally staring back at me in the mirror! I can't thank you enough for this!

As someone who struggles with dermatillomania I appreciate your vulnerability and honesty. Knowing my face doesn't have to look "perfect" makes me less likely to look for "imperfections." I can trust that if I have a regular skincare routine (double cleanse to remove makeup and SPF) that my skin will heal on its own without my "help." Again, thank you for helping me accept myself as I am.

Thank you!! OMG I've been spending so much time lately trying to get my foundation to look natural/less cakey. I spend ages trying all the tricks I know and then it looks horrible so I wipe it off and start over again. I have an issue with either my pores looking massive or the bit/crease around my nostrils turns into a huge canyon. It also always looks cakey. I'm going to try this technique and hope it works. I have a lot of acne to cover up, too so it's frustrating. I'm not trying to look perfect, I just want to look somewhat natural. This is EXACTLY the video I need!

I have stopped watching so many other beauty channels to focus on the basics again. So many of them are based on pushing products, where Wayne is about techniques. He never even said what he's using and it really doesn't matter in the end. This is so focused on using what we have already to get what we want.. with the right steps to do it in. So many others are focused on pushing new things. Even with it being a full coverage product it looked great. I'm going to try this with concealer for more full coverage days, and a light coverage foundation for normal days. Thanks again Wayne!!

No idea if it’s Wayne Goss approved, but I use a similar amount of a more creamy foundation, liquid ones seem to look dry on me for some reason. I smear it over the back of hand so it’s quite thin, work the foundation into my soft natural hair brush, then very gently buff onto skin. Can only do it that way with creamier foundations, then use a damp beauty blender to finish it off and remove any areas with too much. Where Wayne is really buffing, I use a much lighter touch but still buffing until it’s worked into the skin. I use a Morphe E63 I think. I hold the brush a bit further back so I can’t put as much pressure on. I also use quite a thick moisturiser as a base instead of primer. Anything tacky won’t work as it just sticks to one area. Certain foundations I do the same on back of hand but with a beauty blender, still working product into sponge before going onto my face. I never use more than 1 pump. Hope it helps x

What works best for me is to apply liquid foundation with fingers on small amount, tap gently and really work it in on the side of noses or any dry areas, then blend with damp sponge, apply in thin layers (using brushes sometimes can be too abrasive for dry skin). Same concept but different application, and your skin has to be completely moisturised
