Oh he must be feeling better - the sass! It’s nice to see EL getting some love. Everyone seems to want to hate on them. I used to wear Double Matte years ago but switched to Double Wear when the former was discontinued. You do have to really work it in or it can sit on top of your pores in a must unattractive way. Two hands are definitely called for 😂That said, it is a real performer and one foundation I will always have on hand.

Wayne there’s nothing more sexy than an ambidextrous make up artist. 😊Don’t listen to the naysayers. I was diagnosed with lung cancer a year ago. I had a complicated surgery the aftermath of which was torturously painful. I want to tell you how much comfort watching and learning from you brought me. I practiced many of the techniques you taught me and purchased products that worked beautifully too. I often wished you were my son. I would be so proud and honored to have a son like you. We would have so much fun! But the point is thank you for being an integral part of my healing. You’re the bomb!

Love when Sassy Wayne comes out. I have tried to break away from EL, tried high end, drugstore, and all in-between. Nothing seems to work as well for me but for some reason I keep trying new foundations lol. I do like cushion foundations, but they still don't reach the greatness of my trusty Double Wear.

@@chloenkitty I would say it’s medium but buildable to full coverage. I have acne prone skin so I try to use just one even layer and add coverage with concealer, but if you build up with the foundation instead I think it would cover.

Definitely my number one. I've been using Double Wear for some years and I try changing every now and again. Just keep coming back. Good to see your mojo back Wayne.

OK Mr Goss, now I have to tell you. Among all these makeup artists the web is full of, I consider you the best. You have changed my life repeatedly because since I have been following you (10 years now, I think) you have always taught me many things (2 above all: how to do eyeliner and contour). Sometimes I feel like you're reading my mind: last week I started using the Double Wear foundation again and I didn't like it anymore because I thought it was heavy and too dry... but now you've taught me (again) 2 tips that I'll put straight into tomorrow and they will (as always) solve the problem. I too learned something today about this makeup, and that is to work it into the brush in the palm of your hand first. Tried it today and it works really well. My foundation looks so much better now.

@valerasi6 - another technique I use with the DW foundation is to apply a light bit of Charlotte Tilbury’s Hollywood Flawless Filter after the DW foundation has “set/dried” with a sponge to my cheekbones, bridge of nose, and forehead to offset the overall matte look. I do mean a light application as too much is going to make you look like your face is perspiring 😅. I have always had oily skin and cannot emoliate heavily or the foundation is just going to slide off my face by noon. As I’ve aged, I’ve learned the all-over matte looks dry and lifeless and adding a little “deweyness” made all the difference for me, while ensuring the foundation doesn’t slip and slide. ✌🏼

After so many years of trying many foundations I finally purchased DW. I was in shock upon application. I couldn’t tell I had anything on my face! I will never ever purchase anything else!

Estee Lauder Double Wear was my "first love" with foundation in my 20's and I purchased this religiously along with Double Wear Light until the age of about 40. I had acne in my teen years & early 20's and this product gave my complexion an even look while matching my skin tone perfectly. About 7 years ago I started experimenting with the Luxury brands in addition to the Department stores. I 100% believe this formula is a tried and true Holy Grail!! ❤

I've tried others and nothing compares to my favorite Double Wear

63 y.o. I've got so many foundations but when nothing works, well, ELDW...wins. Still. After all these years. True love❤

Amen 🙌🏼 62 here and have tried what feels like every foundation out there, thinking it will be better, but there is nothing like Estee.

It doesn't turn orange, break me out, and lasts almost all day. It's my #1 favorite forever

I think Revlon ColorStay is also a great old foundation. Especially now that they have dry and oily versions which I switch between throughout the year

Nothing compares for me! You can sheer it out, build it up and it is the only thing that holds up with my oily skin.

I recently bought the newly reformulated Lancôme Tient Idol, if you love Estée Lauder DW you’ll love it! Same coverage and wear but feels lighter on the skin. Love them both!

Perhaps that’s what I’m looking for. Something that wears lighter on my skin. I love EL and have worn it for almost 20 years but I feel it on my face when I wear it and I don’t put a lot of it on.- almost 60 and I just want something that gives me a light skin coverage for the day😊 yesterday, I purchased Chanel Vitalumiere as it was very light going on and felt soft on my face- We will see

Also Lancôme teint Miracle is perfect for when Teint Idole (and maybe DW) feels too heavy / full coverage. I’m turning 40 this year and switched to Miracle because of my dryer skin. Love it so so much now.

First purchased in 1975 at 16yrs old ! Now at 65yrs old and after trying a huge assortment of foundations and living in various climates I always return to this excellent classic beauty !

@@kathyhenry2362it wasn’t their Country Mist…it was a matte foundation in a tube, the name of which escapes me. I, too, started using that when I was 16. I believe the DW line is a descendant of that early matte in a tube. It was discontinued when DW was first introduced. ✌🏼

I will say, I went to a counter to get some ELDW and got colored matched to 2N1 Desert Beige. I always thought I was warm. It was shocking. That is now the color I use to compare all other foundations too. How funny that this is Wayne’s color, too.

I use ELDW for all types of foundation coverage. I will thin it out with facial oil to create satin finish or moisturizer for sheer depending on my mood . Or use straight up for full coverage for special occasions. It is the best and timeless. All the other brands cannot compete

Estee Lauder Double Wear NEVER FAILS ME. In any type of weather for any long day/night nothing on the market does what this does and I always have back ups! Great Video. PS I am 59 years old. This foundation hands down phenomenal.

This will be forever my favourite foundation due to the fact that it made my skin still look amazing when I suffered from acne. I am 39 now, no breakouts, I prefer just to use CC cream or tinted SPF50 moisturizer but any time I have event I need to look good, I go and buy a bottle for myself. Love your videos x

I love lighter application for foundation and I can’t wait to try this. I love how you always say that “skin should look like skin”, I totally agree that makeup should enhance and not smother.

I tried so hard to love EL double wear but at 63 it gives me a “cakey” look.. especially when Im on video.. im probably too heavy handed lol I am currently using EL Futurist Hydra Rescue

It looks natural on you. My go to is Lancome Teinte Miracle. It gives a nice natural finish on my more mature skin. Love the moody background 😊

Love the dark background…I’m 72, just starting to wear foundation, been trying different ones, not this one yet. I have dry skin, face has more red now days. Lived during the time sun was great, lol, started using Drmtlgy or Ella MD, they both have color work great. I have always used great moisturizer….watching these videos help me so much

I went into nordstroms when I was 13 with a friend. I bought an eyeshadow brush. The woman helping me had the most amazing make up and I asked her what foundation she was wearing. She said ELDW. Her base was perfect. That was 28 years ago! My mom has also worn it my whole life.

I just turned 70 and bought it for the first time last year, I have dry skin and add just one drop of oil to it and it works on me, I really like it.

I love the SHADE! Goes with the dark background.

I’m actually liking the dark background. I have tried sooo many foundations over the years and then finally tried this and was blown away. Also that blush brush does look sexy! It looks like the perfect size and shape to bring it up to your eye and tie in the look.

I have tried and wasted so much money wanting to try different foundations. I always come back to ED! And I use two hands for my moisturizer and with this foundation I use my fingers and then go over really good with a beauty blender. And it’s perfect. I get so many compliments on my skin. Love the ambiance of the background! Another great video.

Armani Silk is my go-to. I get compliments all day on my 60 yr old face when I wear it.

Wayne, as always, you are ever so helpful with teaching us your techniques. I have this foundation because I have very oily skin, and it works well but I can't make it look as flawless, so I will be attempting what you showed us here.

Double wear is my go to foundation. Has been for years.

The dark background is great because it makes you and what you are doing the focus. I like it better. Double wear is the best for 16 of my years and so is Maybelline Great lash mascara. Best tools in my makeup bag and both so affordable. Are we ever going to see a restock of your foundation? I never got to try it and would love to.

It was my go-to and life-saver when my melasma was at its worst. Just moisturiser then a quick application gave me full coverage. Now that my melasma is gone, I still keep it as a stand-by.

For me I find it not to be matte but more of a satin finish, which I love

I've been wearing Estee Lauder for years ❣️ I've tried so many other's and I always come back to it! Just bought the powder version which goes well after using the foundation

I love everything about this video. The dark background, the skincare, the makeup, the review, and of course the sass 😂 something about it feels so therapeutic to watch. And yes Estée Lauder is pretty much the only foundation I use. Nothing else beats that formula for me and I’ve gotten away with wearing it from morning to late night events without any creasing or touch ups.

I use blush on my nose too. I like the "touch of sunburn" look without the actual sunburn.

This is definitely my number 1 fav foundation and the shade matches me flawlessly!

I absolutely love DW! I can't afford to wear it as my everyday foundation but when I go out it is perfect and takes ages to go through a bottle.

It's still the best . I love it for summer and I do apply this foundation with two hands and I mix it with one small pump of by terry cc serum darkest one and it's just the best.

I love the shade match. Double Wear is great for my long work days when I need the foundation to stay in place even in the heat. I love to combine it with Advance Night Repair serum or Paula's Choice peptide serum for a sheer natural coverage. I love the new background. Looks elegant and modern.

I love love love buying and trying out new foundations, liquid, powder, cream, stick, couchions etc… but I realized I’m always coming back to this one as well. This is the one I repurchased the most, I actually don’t know what else I repurchased at all but this! Light, got the coverage needed, not matte, not shiny, just like a good skin! I have combination skin and pores are not the smallest, it sits on my skin well, doesn’t look heavy or crease! It really is great… I usually apply it with beauty blender or just fingers

I want to love this foundation, but I just don't. I find that it separates on my combo, mature skin. But, I LOVE the Luxury Cream Foundation. I've reviewed it a few times on my channel against other foundations and it keeps coming out as one of the best for mature skin. Great job, Wayne!

⁠I have to mix two shades but it’s worth it-Double Wear is a fantastic foundation. I’ve worn it since it was introduced and have used it on many occasions when I did makeup for weddings or formal events. Always looks beautiful!

The blush is a beautiful shade…. soft, pretty, just the right amount blushing… really pretty

I love regular DW, but the Water Fresh version was SO GOOD! I wish they would bring it back. The regular version is still wonderful, and can be sheered out for a more natural look😊

As an artist, I always get asked what I’m wearing on my skin and it’s always Double Wear! I LOVE this foundation and it’s my holy grail and I’ve gone through about 15 bottles 😂

Dior Forever Matte (with a load of moisturizer under) is my fave - never fails. Will have to try ELDW again to see if it changes my mind (last test maybe 10+ years ago, probably my technique wasn't the best?). WAYNE - hope you're feeling better and that the shingles aren't too torturous horrible things

I wear No7 Lift & Luminate moisturiser underneath ELDW. Gives a lovely soft glow.
