The problem is the constant gaslighting and lying to the public. This whole family made a fortune off of artificial fake beauty, creating absurde beauty standards for impressionable young women and now they're crying and playing the victim when it's coming back around? 🙄

That’s what I’m saying! I don’t understand this “we should feel bad for her because she’s a person” rhetoric. She is absolutely a person. But she’s also a grown adult who could dissolve her fillers and stop with the endless procedures, but she’s not going to do that. She said on someone’s podcast that she regrets getting a boob job, and yet she still has implants. It’s her body and her choice, but either she develops thick skin and stands ten toes down on her decisions, regardless of what anyone says, or she gets out of this industry and stops trying to monetize her appearance. She wants the sweet without the bitter and her industry doesn’t allow that. Is the industry toxic? Yes. Have she and her family also participated in, perpetuated, and heavily benefited from that same industry? Also yes. No, none of us should comment on someone else’s appearance unless it’s to say something truly complimentary. BUT I don’t feel sorry for her. These are the natural consequences of the choices she’s made in the world we live in. She needs to grow up.

So many companies spout " loving yourself the way you are, and accepting yourself," but there will always be this ridiculous standard of beauty that is quite unattainable for most people and that makes me sad to think our youth are looking to the wrong people and things to feel good about themselves. 😒

So true about the effect on teenagers. When I go to Sephora, as a woman in my (ahem) 40s, I am shocked at the little girls, maybe 10-13, with their mothers buying Drunk Elephant and high end concealer! One girl was buying her “summer shade” of concealer. What a hard life they will have if they think they have dark circles to conceal as a tween. 😟

I've never seen the interest in the Kardashians, and there's not one ounce of natural beauty left in them since their surgeries and corrections were made. The worst thing about it is that the photos of these and other influencers are photoshopped to hell before being placed in the public domain, so young women trying to emulate this look are trying to achieve the impossible. This leaves them feeling worse about themselves, which is a terrible thing to do, and, to me, is a type of bullying; like the unkind prom queen getting her friends to laugh at the plain girl in the corner, and the only way to be accepted is to spend a fortune on Kardashian products and cosmetic surgery. Where's natural beauty gone! Do we all want to look like blow-up dolls?!

I remember watching your video about Kim K's makeup and I did not even know who she was at the time :D I miss those days. Originally, no Kardashian had that face, except Kim. They all manufactured it based on Kim's success and made millions selling all kinds of scammy products - from slimming tea to bogus supplements to credit cards with crazy hidden fees to lipkits, promising people that if they buy those, they can get that appearance, that booty, that waist, those lips. It's not only Kylie. Khloe did not look like she does right now either. Nor did Kendal. Kendal's enhancements are more modest, but they are there. It's the Kardatian clan that prayed on indecurities and made general public feel inadequate to build their empire, not the other way around. People did not bully Kylie into fillers, she did it herself and then denied it everywhere. Yes, she was a kid, but also, she lives off her looks, that's her only talent. And then she expects people not to talk about it. Yes, people are criticizing and hating on the Ks, but a lot of it is also deserved. And nowadays, people are so over them and their blatant scams.

When I was a teenager, we struggled to afford real Converse tennis shoes! She should have stated that she had her lips filled before selling lip kits. There's enough blame to go around. If she's saying she's against bullying, how is having a false look in order to sell an image helping the situation? It's just false advertising in order to make money.

This is such a complex situation & thanks for making this video, Wayne! I believe Kylie is 100% responsible for her actions as an adult, both personally and professionally, and yes people can be manipulated and make mistakes but adults also make choices everyday with consequences. What I find most concerning/alarming is the actions and lack of accountability while Kylie was minor, a child under the care of Kris and Caitlyn Jenner. They were off making a business off of her and her sisters when she needed support and guidance through social media, protecting her from online bullying, and not 'dating' a grown man (Tyga). I can see why she is crying now and felt all this pressure so I empathize & a generation go young girls and women are still victims of unrealistic beauty standards.

As a celebrity, getting cosmetic procedures done is basically a must for the vast majority of them. I think there's a push for all of these celebs to look better than the average Joe which may be unfair to them but I understand why it's a standard. If I had that kind of money and my "brand" was my face/body I'd probably at least consider it. The problem is lying. Kylie may not have lied herself about her lips but I know Kim did an interview where she was asked about Kylie's lips and Kim said she was just so good at makeup. The whole KarJenner Clan have made their careers off the backs of others and not only through scamming people in the industry but then also the public with their crappy products made in China and then jacking the prices up. At this point, Idc if they claimed to be selling the cure for cancer, I will never choose to give them any of my money. They thrive on controversy which is why Kim blew the ass out of that one of a kind Marilyn Monroe dress that wasn't even flattering on her. Kylie Jenner is rich enough at this point that she could step away from the spotlight and go raise her children in another country if she wanted to and still be living a luxurious lifestyle. I get she didn't choose to be born into this family, but as a now rich adult she appears to still want all the fame, fortune, etc. This is called, suffering the consequences of your actions. The public is fed up with that family and rightfully so. I'd also like to add that I just don't believe a word that comes out of any of their mouths at this point. I think they're running out of material for their crap neverending show so now they're trying to gain sympathy. I feel sorry for 12 year old Kylie who was having her looks critiqued. No child deserves to deal with that at all imo. But like I said, she's got a heck of a lot more choices than a lot of us and she's choosing to still be who she's always been and she doesn't like the pushback.

You need to work on your self esteem. Spend less time on social media and more time learning how to respect and love yourself. You'll be glad you did. Good luck!

That's the thing, what you see on social media is so often a lie. There is so much filtering, so much deception. Stephanie Lange has a lot of great videos on the topic. I also want to suggest looking into getting a therapist. Hating your appearance to the point you don't want to leave your house and avoid leaving is no way to live. Even the people you see on social media looking perfect don't look like that in real life! And notice, a lot of times what we find attractive in others is what makes them unique, not the cookie cutter look that media/social media pushes. I like the reminder that flowers all look different, and we still appreciate all of their beauty. But I know that you might not be in a place where that message will resonate yet.

When I was finally able to lose weight, I'd motivate myself by saying "I wish Iooked like..." and then I'd find a picture, or someone in a store window, or something I wanted to look like. One day I did that, but realized it was my own reflection. That was the day I stopped with the "motivation" and realized I was OK. Sometimes you've got to admit we've all been taught to see ourselves like a fun house mirror. Have someone take a picture of you, and then consider it as a stranger would. You might be surprised.

You are so kind! The truth is a teenager shouldn’t do these things. I’m not a fan of them either but your heart is golden! You care !!

Thanks for this video. It’s important. I’ve been an aesthetician for over 20 years, and I have never seen so many young girls under the age of 21 think that they need filler and Botox in order to be “acceptably attractive.”Unique beauty is hard to find now as everyone has such similar faces. It’s really sad and the Kardashians are a big part of a massive problem. I feel for the young girls of that family and the pressure they must feel to be perfect.
