How to Answer DO YOU HAVE ANY QUESTIONS? in an interview (with many examples)

At the end of a job interview hiring managers will almost certainly ask you. Do you have any questions for us? How do you respond to this? What should you say and (equally important) what shouldn't you say. In this video well will answer this questions giving many examples and explaining the question in the wider context of the interview.
If English is not your first language then this question gives you the chance to ask well-formed questions using a rich English vocabulary to give the hiring managers the impression that you have a strong level in English
This is part of a series of videos on interview technique. Be sure to check out our other videos on the subject.

A few of my favourite questions are : 1. Where do you see your company in 5 years time? 2. This industry has a lot of competitors. How are you as a company trying to stay above them? 3. What does the average day here look like? 4. Does this job role have an opportunities for advancement or professional development? 5. What is one piece of advice you would give to someone who is starting this role? 6. Is there anything else I could provide you with which may be helpful?

(Answer to this question opens the door for the more follow up questions sometimes) 2) What other technologies/applications are being used in your company? (this is IT role specific) 3) What are the typical LOB of some of your main customers? (if the company is a service co.) 4) What is the work culture in your company?

Today was my job interview..before I went there, I watched these videos and at the time I was being interviewed she asked me this same question "do you have any question?" Usually I would answer "no, I don't have any question" but this time I did the right thing. Well, she told me that the girl who helped my group in the other phases would contact me, (I was the first to be interviewed, since I was the first to arrive...) given the fact she would be interviewing the other candidates I just head home. On the way home I started to think: "should I had wait??? She didn't mention that, that's why I'm going home; she simply didn't tell me if I was supposed to wait." Then I'm here asking myself if I should have waited!! Maybe at this she's telling the results to someone else and I'm not there to know it. Plus she made us wait a lot!! The interview was schedule to an espefic time but I was interviewed I would say an hour later. When I finished what I came to do I simply went home! But this thing on my mind...I was nervous so I just head home without asking anyone whether I should wait or not.

I just finished an interview. Got prepared for almost all questions and forgot this one, and it got me by surprised. Luckly I actually asked the one you said, how's the competition in this sector (the position is one for a new territory they are approaching) and they went on like a casual conversation, really nice, and then I said that I know a person that works for them, and that only talks about good things of the company and that I always wanted an opportunity to work in a company like they. And they asked me again, you have any other questions for us, I froze and I actually said that they clear up any question I had. That's it, I got frustated cause I forgot this question comes up, and I saw this video... how I wish to have watched sooner. The one of which additional skills can I learn for the job? Would've been perfect. I will not wait them to call me, cause I know I screwed up, but now I know this for the next one. Good vids man!

I’m not sure if you ever made any videos on accent and pronunciation but I’d like see what you’ve got to say on this topic. Maybe you know about some techniques that can help with mastering English accent. And maybe you know of some irritating pronunciation mistakes we make. Thank you.

Talking about skills. Especially if you think that the interview did not work out as well as you expected, it is a good idea to ask, what the reasons were to pick especially you for the interview. That gives you a chance to learn what they found positive about you and to give some more emphasis to these points.

Thanks for the video! It's quite helpful. Although, I want to ask smth : once, I got an interview and it was well and then I got the job offer. But, during my interview, the manager correct me when I asked "what will I be responsible for in the department when I start? ". He correct me as "IF YOU WILL start bla bla bla". He means I shouldn't be sure about taking the job, maybe someone else will take it. So, was my question wrong? Should I use "the position/the role/etc." instead of "me/I"?

Great stuff! They do ask long questions especially HR where interviewee is expected to give answer in stages or order or cover few areas. I tend to even forget what the other parts of the question were and sometimes I would pause and be like sorry can you repeat the question. So my question is, is it good a idea to bring a note 📝 pad and a pen to the interview for me to note the key areas i need to cover in my answer ?

I'll respond to bump this and follow, because I'm interested in what others think. I'm no expert, but I don't think it's a good idea to bring a notepad, although I wish it were. I think they want you to look and sound like you haven't prepared, and be able to answer everything articulately off the top of your head. Of course that's an unrealistic expectation in most cases.

Hello Sir, I was just watching over different videos randomly even not concering interviews, as I have given my telephonic interview today for the Electrical Engineer position. They asked me the same question during the interview that's why this video enticed me to watch over and i have thenafter subscribed your channel for more fascinating videos because your way of illustration is very lucid and vivid. Actually, I was not prepare about the interview because I was not expecting any sudden call. Anyhow the interview was fantastic. My interview lasted up to 11 minutes. She asked me at the end of interview that DO YOU WANT TO ASK ANY QUESTION FROM ME? Actually I was replying in my natural way without any hesitation. Nevertheless, I asked about the next interview or hiring process? I am hoping for the best. I have given 6 to 8 interviews in a week with all positive feed back. Thanks for sharing such an informative video. I'll watch the rest of your interview concerned videos too perhaps you have made all of the possible interview concerned videos.

I actually always say that i have other offers, but simply because it's true in most cases. I do feel awkward when I say it, it's like I have the feeling that I shouldn't say it. I don't know, I have mixed feelings about this one.
