Just got my new supertop NX Im glad to see bestop pulled it together and gave up on the original supertop model, it wasn't worth anything. The NX is the best soft top to buy if you need a replacement top. My TJ came with a hard top, so i was so excited to get the NX. It has all the features that make it great like the factory top, plus a sunroof option. And a much better price compared to the jeep dealership wanting $1500 for a factory top!

The "flip over the top" is just a trick to help make the folded top a bit neater. Rolling your back window is definitely an option, BUT it is more susceptible to scratches when you do it that way.

Man, I could watch this video all day,.....and I have a JK! It's too bad some people are harsh with their comments. I agree there is a super attractive gal here who knows her stuff but crass verbage is uncalled for. Thanks for the Trektop NX guys ! I am proud to own a Bestop!

Thanks for the demo, I am currently wanting to purchase a used TJ but was told that the soft top removal and reassembly was a PITA....this seems to be reasonable to remove and reinstall. Probably works better with two people though. Nice vid, nice Jeep.

I usually just roll the back window up and secure. It adds a bit more bulk but I find unrolling it is easier than zipping it back in. To each his own I guess. I usually fold my rear corners under..I see in the video they flip them over the top. I may try this..not sure what it adds but always looking for ways to speed it up. Just purchased a new top btw..can't believe how easy it is to install. Got a good 12 years out of the factory top.

I bought the BestTop Supertop from you and the hinges to come undone towards the front of the jeep like you show? Is there a video on how to fold down the supertop. I bought my jeep with a hardtop first and installed the supertop myself no problem but when i go to put it down. It doesn't look as clean as this video lol.

i just bought the classic supertop for my 2001 Wrangler TJ and i was wondering do you have any instructional videos on how to put up and put down the top like you do for the supertop NX. I asked this because i know with the classic supertop you dont get to unclip the front visor mounts their secured by bolts. so its not easy to fold and unfold like you do here.

@jstout724 It's going to be a bit different where the arms/bows attach to your YJ. But the basic principles are the same: remove the windows, fold back, etc.

Hey so I bought a 2005 jeep wrangler tj sport..but it already had the top replaced to a newer aftermarket non rollback top and removed the rollback arms...now I have a top that is better quality but cannot be quickly rolled back is there a version like this I can buy to return it to this?

@@bgellineau so you're wanting a full soft top, square back, that folds back like a convertible? If so, I would suggest the Supertop, part number 54720-35 for the TJ!

The stiffeners in the back corners? They're "permanently" installed into the corners. (actually, you can easily remove them, but you don't ever need to).

hi, i have a bestop supertop for my recently acquired 1981 toyota fj40. can the soft top fold down with the bows etc or do i need to remove the soft top completely for wind in the hair driving? cheers

I think that is an '05 or '06. The top is the same on the 97. Have fun with your new Jeep!

I have this top on my 97 TJ. The front side clips are so tight I need a tool to release the front one after releasing the rear one. But it's been on now for 3 years and it's perfect otherwise.

i have just purchsed the identical 06 Wrangler. When i went to install my soft top this wekend, I realized that the door trims were missing as well as the back window is damaged. are these pieces available on their own....if so where and how much

What year Wrnagler is this? And does this work with all Wrangler models? (looking to buy a 1997)

jeepWrangler soft top 2dr. 2002 Utility: Sail Panel Retainer -rear right body side, will affix, but is loose. When removing both pastic windows, Sail Paanel Retainer comes aloose.on one side.. OTHER SIDE of Sail is totally secure after removing plastic window. IF I remove just plastic windows, rear sail panel will flap in wind. NEED help to correct this. Someone says maybe I should shift the bar alittle to the left. to give more tension to sail panel retainer to stay hooked.

Latch it first before you zip the windows or secure any of the clips. This takes all the tension off the front latches.

I can do it just as fast these two people by myself.

mmmmmm i think in this day and age, maybe an electric soft top should be the next addition

They dknt offer them for the older tjs..I was waiting on MYTOP to produce one but they canceled production...I hate needing two people to completely take off the top I have now..id love to have the factory rollback top it originally had so im at a loss

This top is designed to be operated by one person however, like many things, it is easier with a second set of helping hands.
