Me too. But it turns out mine didn’t come with the girl.

Only thing missing is the "OH Shit" on each step.

If you're like me and you leave the top down all summer/fall, here's a tip when you go to put it back up: fold it forward, don't latch anything yet, and let the top and the windows sit in the sun for a couple hours. Doing it cold makes it much more difficult to stretch everything back into the proper dimensions.

LOL I remember the first time I took the top off my 2006 Rubicon and tried to put it back on LOL. I was sweating bullets and frustrated LOL until I finally managed to get the latches in LOL.

ok you sold me on the nx.. can i still get one with out sun rider because a lot of reviews say it dont fit right

02 TJ here with a factory soft top that I used 'till about 2012 and then only sporadically for winter jaunts with a Bikini top in rest of the time. The last few times installing it it's really hard because the side clips are nearly impossible to push in, the zippers are nearly not zippable and the windshield clamps were hard to connect. Some stitching has failed around the doors. It's as if the whole top has shrunk to where it doesn't fit correctly. Yep, when I do get it on it's drum tight and the windows are all clear with no sags but it's no easy task. Yes, I know the protocol and do it on a hot day after laying it over the Jeep in the sun. But I'm concerned it's on its last legs. So I'll nurse it for a few years and assume a factory Sailcloth replacement from Bestop will still be available for around 900 bucks for the foreseeable future. Am I insane?

Hey Mark, I'd highly recommend giving our customer service a call at 800.845.3567 for their input on this when you are ready to replace the fabric. You should be able to replace the fabric with a Replace-a-top as long as your hardware is in good shape.

Both Bestop Supertop NX and Trektop NX include factory-style door surrounds (in addition to any other hardware needed for a completely new top installation). Please have a look at Bestop.com for a full description of these soft tops..

It's a Supertop NX, which is very close to the factory top and fabric. You may have a different Bestop soft top on yours, most likely a classic Supertop. The fabric on the NX is thicker.

any tips are getting the zipper started to the windows? I can hardly get them started.

Lots of people store their upper half doors in the vehicle. Usually right behind the seats. I usually leave them behind, if I can, because I prefer to keep my Jeep as empty as possible, for safety when I roll it over (I mean IF I roll it over) . But soft upper doors aren't hard to stow in your Jeep, especially compared to lower steel doors!

you guys need to help me out here!!! i absolutley love the look of the Bestop Trektop NX for my 2006 wrangler unlimited (TJL), but i have yet to get the damn thing to fit. Seriously, is there a trick to getting the back window on for the first time? i've tried warm weather, i've tried professional's help, and nothing... it will NOT fit. IF it ever were to fit, can i expect it to be that difficult to install in the winter in cold conditions?

The doors can be stored in the back, but not easily or safely for off-roading. I usually take off the doors and leave them in the hotel or campground for the day.

How you took off the channels ok top of the door so easy?? I had to pry em off

You know how other drivers will wave to you because they're all so in love with their Jeep? Those are people who have never installed the convertible top yet.

Mine has a double zipper in the rear window? Is it made to just be rolled up? I don't see how you could unzip it.

Very good video thanks, I have watched it several times now but... I just took the top down for the first time on my own this week and that was ok. I then had to try and get it back up and couldn't do it on my own,this is a right pain, and boy were the windows hard to zip up again even by my friend with his man hands. Can you just drive with the windows taken out and the roof on? Will it do any damage, does anybody know please?

Hi, Torrance! Go to 5:48 in this video - make sure you are pulling the paddle handle all the way back to extend the hook that attaches to the windshield as far forward as possible. I would recommend calling our customer service at 800.845.3567 for further assistance.

My TJ top is kinda sinking in on the sides. The back windows are kinda caving in when I’m driving and it doesn’t appear tight. Is that normal or is there something that needs to be adjusted?

It sounds like either it needs an adjustment or a part replaced. I would email Customer Service some pictures and then call them so they can look them up while you're on the phone with them. customerservice@bestop.com, 800.845.3567, option 3.

This may be a silly question but…can you leave the top up with any of the windows removed, in any combination? Like maybe just the back one out?

Ive driven long periods with all windows out and top up. At highway speeds, the back panels will flap a little. Its a good set up as it keeps the sun off of you and the inside a little dryer for a sudden storm.

Look how sneaky they are! They edit out the difficult parts so it looks easy. Screw you besttop!

Does the classic s Supertop break down as well. I had mine installed but got no instruction on how it operates.

So, to access the trunk area I'll have to completely unzip the rear window and not just roll it up? Not exactly user friendly.

Well, with it rolled, it takes up a good amount of “trunk” space, but yes, you can open the tailgate with the window rolled up, and access that small remaining area.

You do not have to remove those stiffeners to fold the top down. Make sure to tuck them under the soft top assembly as it folds down though.

That is typically done with a bikini top that only covers the front two seats, not a full soft top as seen here.

Just un clip the header bar over the windshield, and fold back just the front half

You can’t do that with a normal top. You need a bikini top.

I’ve owned Jeep’s for 30 years and most all of them have had Best Tops. They make great products UNTIL you need parts. I purchased their upper doors with sliding windows for my TJ but when the latches need replacement I was told that I had to buy the entire $600 kit. They wouldn’t sell me the $2.00 latch. Awful customer service. I’ll think twice before I buy anything else from this company.

New Jeep owner, question. Can you remove the windows and ride with the top/sides only?

I tried this and ripped my windows, in.a frustration I just started pulling everything and ripped the stupid top off and gave it to thr dogs. I hate it

Jeep owners in real life: "This f***** latch won't go, and the window zipper is f***** stuck again!" 🤣😂🤣😂🤣 ed.: I have a '97 TJ with a Bestop, and it's a great product. But it's a Jeep: nothing ever fits or bolts right in, and sh!t always gets stuck or rattled 🤣

Sad you have to pay extra for a double stitched top this company has down hill big time!
