Just installed mine over the weekend by myself. Went on perfect with no problems. I live in AZ, I installed it in 100 degree shade and it zipped right up. Watched your video a few times and during the install and never had to look at the instructions. It took me an hour to install after everything was removed. I had to loosen one of my speakers on the rollbar to get one of the straps around the roolbar. It fits better than original and easier to use.

Great video! I reference it every fall when it’s time to cover up my ‘06 TJ just to be sure I do everything in the right order.

Thanks for the tips on closing the gap at the rear window! The top is super tight and quiet. It is a huge improvement over the factory top on my 04' TJ Unlimited.

I received my trektop NX yesterday. In stalled today took me 3hrs. But I only have one functioning hand and no help. So, 3 hrs isn't so bad. Followed this video went on perfect. Very pleased. When I slid the last flap lock under the side molding the rain started. Thanks bestop for a great product.

Are you able to roll top down like you can on a factory soft-top?

False Shepherd Top does not roll down, the front of the top does fold back and allow open air to front seats

Thanks for the great video. I will be installing my Trektop on my 2004 TJ next weekend. I'm looking forward to the Sunrider feature. Forecast says 85 deg weather. I don't think my yellow jeep ever looked that clean since it was new.

Great video. Was haveing big problems with initial instalation until I watched this a couple of times. Not sure how you'd ever do it just using the written instructions.

I just installed the Rampage frameless top on my TJ. It seems so much easier compared to the BestTop installation.

In my opinion the factory style tops with frame look so much better.

I just got mine in yesterday. Installed it today. A bit of a struggle the first time but what an AMAZING top. If I had a second Wrangler I'd get another!!

Thanks for vid, we bought our Jeep second hand, this came with it but like almost new, my question is there any solution to get rid of the flapping top, wind noise. We cannot keep the window all up so there will be draft but it is soooo loud. Thanks, btw we have no AC at all, the fan just blows hot air in the inside of the car.

So what color/ fabric type is on that one? ... Black Diamond or Black Denim?

Okay so I'm looking for a step by step installation video for my frameless softop on my 98 wrangler tj 2door. Took the back window panel out and cant get it back on now. It's the warmest day of 2020 so far and I thought I'd try it. (ya know for stretch) it sucks to have to pay put of pocket for the labor on this EVERY TIME! ☹

Hi Elly, Refer to the window installation section in this video starting at 9:00. Make sure to get all zippers connected but just barely started before you start installing the plastic retainers around the rest of the window and note how he keeps the strap loose and lifts the windows up over the roll bar at 10:45. Something they did not cover in this video that I think helps a lot is to keep the Sunrider sunroof panel flipped open and wait until all windows are installed to close it. Can somebody tell me how you are supposed to feed the side strap between the roll cage and the sound bar??? The video just skips to finished view

I have had two Supertops in the existence of my TJ. It is superior to the stock soft top in every single way. At the time it comes to retire my current Bestop Supertop, I will be getting another, maybe a Trektop When I am an old man, on a walker, half insane, I will still remember to order a Bestop Supertop for my ancient TJ.

How did you get the hinged frame off of the roll bar? My screws just keep turning.

I am installing this now and it is a disaster. Its in the high sixties and this thing is so damn tight the seams are starting to rip. Disappointing so far. Exhausted, gonna try again tomorrow.

Go on real easy my foot. Took my top off yesterday & when I went to reinstall the front edge of one of the window panels would not completely fold around the door frame as it did before I took it off. The one on the other door did fine. This is a 3 year old Jeep & I don't know why the previous owner replaced the OEM top with this one.

Have not looked at all the comments but they could have shown opening the flip back sunroof and how do you keep it open without it flying off ?Anyone? Anyone ?

I have a factory style top now. Where I live, we get a lot of random rain throughout the year. I typically run around with the back window rolled up (or removed) but the rear side windows still on. Is this possible with the Trektop NX? I am not really interested in the sun-roof feature, but I really like to be able to leave the side windows on.

Dude, just get the best top soft top that they sell… Once you have the framework in place you have the main part of the top goes up in less than 10 seconds, then you just zip in the windows… I have the same issue here that’s why I’ll always go with a regular soft top because you’re so limited with the one they’re advertising

The TJ Trektop is part number 5682035.

So why does my trektop bubble up on the freeway and why does that bow flop around and sound like a metal bucket full of marbles being shaken when the windows are down?!?!

I have this top on my 2005 LJ. A couple questions. How do I secure the front portion of the top and keep it from bouncing and flapping when I fold it back? Also, is there any way to completely fold it down like an OEM soft top without completely removing it? I don't see that it is secured to the vehicle at all when it is down.

The weight of the top keeps it down, bouncing is normal while driving, its not going to fly forward. The Trektop doesn't fold back into convertible mode though, I apologize.

This seems more of a hassle than anything else, it may be an easier install then putting on a regular soft top, but once that frame is in place taking it down and putting it up is a heck of a lot easier than what you would have to do with this top that their advertising “Especially if you get caught in the rain“… The main part of a regular soft top would pop up in less than 10 seconds, then all you would have to do is zip in the windows…. Then taking the top off for the season is only a matter of unscrewing 6 bolts, you can even buy the bolts that have the quick release, it will save you an extra 45 seconds🤦‍♂️🤣

BEWARE, the top does NOT COME WITH TOP ARCH bow, this video is VERY misleading. I bought this complete top and had it shipped to the UK, when i contacted Bestop they informed me it was an "Optional extra" ....nice!!

I apologize for the mishap and confusion, the Trektop NX for the TJ, DOES come with the arch bar, I hope that Customer Service was able to get that shipped out to you right away?! Please let me know if you are still in need of that. ~Crystal@Bestop

a followup... the instructions say 3 hours, the text instructions are garbage and the pictures were zoomed in so far you can't make heads or tails on top of being upside-down in some of the examples. I spent almost 2 hours struggling with the papers that came with my top until I got fed up and went to google. Then I skipped through a youtube video of a guy in his back yard with the same top I bought and had the whole thing assembled and installed in less than 30 minutes. Awesome product but the instructions are complete trash.

This video should be removed. The bow support is nolonger included in the kit.
