True. I feel like after all of the backlash that Game Freak received from the release of scarlet and violet with all of glitches- they have to up their standards. That and hopefully a more stronger powered device….one can only hope

I think it won't matter if the next console is better performance wise, if the next game isn't optimized good enough we are gonna have another scarlet and violet

@sparx6766 I don't think it's nintendo, game freak tries to get a pokemon game almost every year. They set their own goals and deadlines for nintendo consoles. Look at tears of the kingdom, mario wonder, even more games. They clearly got time to cook in the oven. Game freak needs to get their stuff together

The system wont matter, as long as gamefreak doesn't care to make a polished game, it will still look like a buggy wii game with below 30 fps

As someone who owns every game and console specifically for Pokémon collecting, I don’t think 4K will happen any time soon. Not because they can’t do it but rather should they do it? Cartoons in 4K still look like cartoons but more obvious. We went from pixel games to 3D to decently realistic worlds. 4K isn’t as great as we expect it to be. Besides, having more physics and features over resolution is priority.

imagine if we had a game where you get to pick which region you come from then do a dlc where they do a masters 8 and another dlc where you can travel and challenge regions

Honestly, is not even whether the console has or doesn't have the horsepower to deliver, Xenoblade and Zelda have proven TWICE that the switch can deliver in terms of graphics and performance. SW/SH, Arceus, and S/V looking as they do is not due to a lack of resources from the console, is straight up lack of time/resources from the developers. What I'm trying to say, is that it is not up to the console whether or not the series can be pushed further, is up to Gamefreak and the Pokemon Company, and as long as pokemon makes them money, they won't have an incentive to do different things, or even improve for that matter.

You definitely have a valid point, but the hardware improving moves the 'lowest end of the bar' to a much higher place. So it does mean the next games will be better looking almost by proxy. P.S. I thought PLA and SwSh looked pretty good for the most part

@@galariangold devs still have to create better assets. Making better assets takes time, money and manpower. Gamefreak probably doesn’t have any of these. If anything, Pokémon games might look even worse if tpci doesn’t allow GF to grow

​@@56ty_nah, you can't get worse going from 3ds engine to unreal engine 5, the assets can still be the same ones with some reescaling and even then it will look and run far better as the engine is not half dying in the process, the problem with switch era pokemon is that pokemon company was sure the console would be a failure, so they didn't bother into getting a new proper engine with brand new assets and animations, that's why pokemon ss and sv look like pokemon soon and moon HD version

I'm hoping for a pokemon stadium/battle revolution theme game with pokemon snap switch graphics.

I am of the mind that they closed the old shop the moment they decided to reinvent Gen 1&2. I believe that by the end of 2025, we will hear from them about a brand new remake of Kanto and Johto in the same game for the new console.

They need to do something with the dock. It needs to be more than a piece of plastic that holds the switch in place. What I would want them to do is add a vertical disc reader to it. The disc reader would basically be the wii disc reader and would be able to play wii and gamecube games. We already have add on ports to use original gamecube controllers or to just buy a new one and then they could add wii support by simple releasing new wii controllers that operate on the same thing the joycons do, or just make a mold for the joycons to fit into.

i do hope the next pokemon games has online areas in the cities so we can meet other players in cities only and make a group with said people so we can explore together outside the cities

I´d LOVE to see a remake of Pokemon Red, Blue and Green and Pokemon Gold and Silver for the Nintendo Switch 2. Specially because I never got to play the gameboy games. I was born in Feb 25 of 2000 and my first Pokemon game was Platinum in 2009, then Soul Silver in late 2009, then Battle Revolution in 2010, then Black 2 in 2012, X in 2013, Ultra Sun in 2017, then Shield in 2020, then Brilliant Diamond in 2022 followed by Legends Arceus also in 2022. So far that´s my history with Pokemon games. I still have all my Pokemon games since 2009 and I still play them

The switch just beat the DS in sales already

Back in the day when the Switch was nothing more than rumors and was know as the Nintendo NX, I thought that Pokémon on the NX would be huge and everything I dreamed of as a child. Well, I got what I wanted, but with the Zelda franchise, not the Pokémon franchise. I doubt that Switch 2 will change anything. But I would like very much to be proven wrong as I'm the first guy who'd throw money at a polished, big 3D Open World Pokémon game with a good story. Key word is polish.

I'm worried about Pokemon's future. If they can't be bothered to make a game that takes advantage of the Switch, then why would I believe they would make a game that utilizes the hardware upgrade we're about to get. Using Playstation consoles as a way to compare Nintendo generations. The Switch is similar to the PS3 in terms of power and we all expect the Switch 2 to be closer to the PS4. Mainline Pokemon games look horrendous on the Switch. I don't think they're ready to adjust for this hardware bump at all. If the games look as bad as they do now it'll be nothing short of embarrassing.

They need to make smash bros the opener for switch 2 ! Make smash a coop online story mode like Mario wonders team up with friends unlock characters give characters a chance to level up and unlock different abilities keep the combat don’t change it and let characters have more combos and finishers! Since i can't be bothered to reply to every comment. For everyone blaming game freak as to why the games are bad, its not them it's Nintendo. Game freak is capable of making good games. Legends arceus, colloseum, battle revoltuion, and B&W. They are capable of making more games. Its just the fact that Nintendo is demanding more and better games while giving game freak less and less time to work on them which is the cause of them being sloppy. Nintendo needs to give game freak more time to make their games.

On Switch 2 we NEED and DESERVE at least: - More legends or other new entries in familiar regions, instead of lame remakes - Gen 10 (or Gen X) fully open world game with proper level scaling, voice acting, "alive" environment, actually good base post-game content and whatever anything else to justify Nintendo's "Seal of Quality" - Collection of 2D Pokemon games - Remasters of 3DS Pokemon games - Next gen patches for Switch games. For gen 9 - ASAP That's not impossible and is absolutely necessary to return a good reputation to the mainline series

I would refrain from giving people false hope this soon. Game Freak can't even handle the Switch for mainline, and that console is coming to an end. I would tell people that although the Switch 2 will be a far more powerful console, I'd expect the same level of value from Game Freak. At least if GF learned their lesson from SWSH and SV, we'd be surprised, if only in terms of slight upgrades to performance at release.

I didnt watch this yet, I am going to. Just wanted to say, LOL.

Heard all this before, the problem is gamefreak and the Pokémon company. Not talented enough to make these games as good as they could be.

no it won't, GameFreak simply won't do a good work with the hardware available, like look at what other Switch games can perfectly look like, that's 100% a software and company's issue, not a hardware issue, if anything, having a better hardware could be even worse cause they could see it as a better excuse to be lazier with optimization, and 4K would actually allow you to see the flaws in even more detail, on the other hand yeah definitely every other Nintendo's IP will benefit from the new console because Nintendo actually know how to take advantage of their hardware unlike GameFreak also no, we're not in the last months of the Switch's life cycle, announcement isn't equal to release, take for example the Switch which was announced in 2015 to be released in 2017, which means if the next console is announced this year 2024 that means release for 2026, so the Switch has probably 2 years more, and knowing that even when the Switch came out, 3DS's life cycle continued until 2019-2024 which was it decline, so the Switch could still be still alive until 2028-2033, period where it'd start actually dying also also ain't no way you called the Color a minor upgrade to the Gameboy 😭

Why use a new system when you can buy old technology for pennies and turn it around for $300.00 a unit? Only pokemon is big enough to console lock their games.

Mostly awful visuals??? What, where? I played Scarlet and Violet and the visuals were amazing, the best ones we've had so far.

Not so hot hot take; If Nintendo is going to do Kanto re-releases make it fire red and leaf green, then give us a full emerald remake with black and white 3s and the switch 2 generation of pokemon will have been a raging success in my book. (we aren't getting an emerald remake)

Just because it is a new console, it doesn't mean drastic improvements to the games. And the "Switch 2" sounds like another Wii U situation. It just doesn't sound like it is any different to the Switch. It sounds like another Lite or OLED switch system. Yeah the 4k sounds unlikely. Legends Z-A will not be on the next console. it be on the Switch. Kanto and Johto don't need to be on the next console. No thanks, voice acting in pokemon is a bad idea.

I predict that the next system is a VR system.

Pokémon has a LOT of issues to fix before graphics. Like they still have not settled into being a 3D home console game like they should have since gen 8 The open world is just bland and boring they don't know how to make an actual compelling open world. Paldea is just empty throughout and the landscape is all the same expect for some biome changes. And the biomes are places so artificially. Literally just a big mountain in the centre and the icy biome next to the desert biome next to the grassy biome etc. you get the point. There literally just so artificial like they were made in a day with no love.And the biomes are literally the same throughout so you get bored quickly. Also there's literally barley any Pokémon around. Now that just maybe a hardware limitation because the Nintendo switch has the same power as a potato but its still unacceptable to barely have any Pokémon around and they aren't even doing anything the world doesn't feel alive. Next issue is big. LEVEL SCALING. Paldea may be open world but literally there's an already set defined path that the game wants you to go through like how dumb is that.If your gonna give us the freedom to move around anywhere then you got to plan for that shit and make sure we wont be hampered by choosing a different path. All gyms should be level scaled and there teams should vary depending your number of badges or if there going above and beyond(which the Pokémon company will NEVER do) they should scale to your teams level so you can really have a challenge. And wild Pokémon should generally be level scaled as well(but i don't might if some areas have just really high level Pokémon to deter you away from that area and let you know you need to come back at a higher level) . there are so many more MAJOR problems that need to be fixed and graphics IS on of them but not the most pressing

Yeah... it doesn't matter which system the game is on. Its whether game freak devs have time and effort allowed. Also if they can make non greedy decision. Like lets be honest. Pokemon Home is a scam. Why in the world do we need our phones to trade? Diamond and Pearl had it for free. It was called the trading station. Like bros n sis. We had free internet, we could trade within our games, no dlc, true we always, usually, got a 3rd game that had better upgrades or features. But still. We are being robbed every time we got it on the Switch. Like SwSh was lazy. And SV was better. But still felt rushed, incomplete, and cant do any trades within the game onlone. GtS shouldnt be tied down to Home.

Look at how bad the games are on the switch. I wouldn't count on anything from Gamefreak as they're lazy

You’ve forgotten about DS light before DSI the one that was specifically with generation four backwards compatibility with the game boy advance models whatever came after two the DS light is compatible Game Boy advance, and the after model Pokémon diamond platinum, and pearl have anybody forgotten the national dexs the normally comes with the Pokédex

I believe if pokemon would truly flesh out the graphics and do voice acting in the games with a good story it would be huge. Honestly that game with the fan base that exist would probably be the most sold pokemon game to ever exist up to this point. Just IMO though.
