@@TiniestD honestly they should have started regional variants around gen 4 and only added like 10 new species lines (10 sets of two to three stage evolutions so about 30 Pokémon total) with each new gen. This would have made the approach to each gen less burdensome and would have allowed them to be able to spend more time really polishing each design carefully

It appears that they forgot that they are mascot sellers so they should put more effort and research in their designs rather then making a bunch of then just to sell like crazy. This is making pokemon too complex to understand and bringing low quality designs with forgettable storys In other hand they are one of the richest companies in the world so they could easily pay people to do a great job. It looks like they act like anarchist, with no strategy

@@ThePositivolp yeah they seem pretty complacent and unfortunately they still get great sales. Maybe most people just don’t care or perhaps children don’t really understand how good Pokémon. Used to be. The new gen’s just don’t hit like the old ones. I personally don’t care to get my kids the new games but I have all of my old one and I’m sure they would be happy to play on that.

@@P0T80S Mew's original description as being the progenitor of all Pokemon was written way back in Gen 1, and I feel this has been somewhat reconnected over the years. I'd say Mew being the progenitor of all non-Legendary, non-Mythical Pokemon would be a good compromise.

Yeah so different planets have different pokemon? I doubt nintendo would go in that direction if they did go to other planets outside a new generation corresponding to it. Mew came first in the real world so thats how it goes.

​@@Sonic-gy7kq1/ I was just explained the difference between two statements "Mew contains DNA of all pokemons", and "Arceus created the Universe" when you stated statements like that, it's like theory, rules, like 1+1=2,... doesn't matter Nitendo implement it in different universes in the game line or not, those statements are "the rules" the theory,.... 2/ Ultra beast came from different dimensions, which is not from "the Earth" so it's not related to Mew according to those statements, and 3/ I believe these statements originally came from the anime series which is Game Freak, not Nintendo. The point here is that I just explained the statements being said in this video, what Nintendo did and will do isn't relevant here. And of course, Nintendo will probably just stick to "the Earth" version, but it doesn't mean "the Earth" is the only planet that has life, this is just a game designed by non-scientists and there are lots of flaws which don't comply logic, but when you said statements like that, you're talking logic, and I was just talking pure logic here, you get my point?

Never forget the unowns. They might not be legendaries but they do get legendary status for being Arceus' literally tools for creating the world. His keyboard or 1000 arms. I think Regigigas ropes is not literally a rope more like his arms are long enough to be count as ropes and he able to drag entire continents, helping Groudon to design them as Regigigas fit and when Regigigas felt lonely and needed help he created the Regi trio out of the material it found.

@@KT-qk9ip You see how the unown manage to create a false Entei and pokemon out of nowhere. What if a God used that power they can create teh whole world. Arceus could remove if he didn't like them. And when Dialga and Palkia fights they break the world apart and u see tons of Unowns flies everywhere uncontrollable.

Solid video overall. A number of errors with the names and types being shown of screen to their corresponding pokemon, but nothing another round of editing or 2 couldn't catch the next time around. Or have someone you know watch it before posting. Sometimes a fresh set of eyes helps. As for the connections you make, I will say I think some would work better on different locations and even fall within your own criteria you use. For example, if Manaphy can be associated with Kyogre because of its connection to the ocean, could Hoopa not be associated with Palkia because of its ability to manipulate space? Or perhaps it is more in line with Giratina, due to its nature and portals it opens could leand to the distortion world instead (it is still a space afterall). And a few could be stronger. It seems more likely to me that Rayquaza, being an entity of air and tasked with calming the forces of nature that are Kyogre and Grodon, would be more of a likely creator of the Forces of Nature genies to manage the weather seperate from the other to behemoths. Again, good stuff overall, and an excellent avenue for discussion! Edited for spelling: Kyoger to Kyogre

Ok, now I know each box art legendary aren’t relevant to the next game because the new legendaries have to have their time in their Gen, but where do some of these guardian legendaries be when stuff go down in other regions 😭 Zekrom and Reshiram were likely a threat to the ecosystem back in their time with them almost destroying Unova, Terapagos almost went berserk in the cave in Indigo Disk, and Paradox Pokémon are a threat and are being spotted outside Area Zero and Zygarde isn’t doing a thing about it. You then have Palkia and Dialga who are supposed to be the creators and rulers of space and time and, and Rayquaza guardian of the Ozone Layer and yet did nothing to stop Necrozma and the Ultra Beast who traveled from another dimension and was running rampant in Alola, or Eternatus who was distorting time and space with its presence 😭

I think i read somewhere that hoopa was made by mew, celebi and jirachi but then it turned evil for some reason and if that source was right then hoopa is the second strongest pokemon in existence bc it said it called and defeated every single pokemon including its creators but not arceus

So far im only 8 minutes into video, so far im really enjoying this video. One critique is that if possible if you revisit this, is edited reminders in, for example when discussing the e on Pokemons, I forgot which one of the lake guardians you were referring to. I had to go back over a couple times repeat to follow better mostly because of how fast you put out all this information ( which I understand its alot, and already a long video). I felt like it would have been much clearer if you had a reference image to which late deity was related.

I have looked into mews case, see when arceus egg was formed there really wasn't justt nothing aside from the egg but rather a primoral chaos. the primordial swirled together and created the off spring being the egg. Many have theorised this primordial chaos to be mew. I have even ran across a reddit post where someone compared mew to hundun in chinese myth, which fits mew title for being the ancester of pokemon well.

When you think about it mew was credit firsr before anything else cause nothing else was thought of yet cause no one knew that pokemon would make it this far so technically more had to be thought of to keep the Pokémon story goimg to keep bringing out another 150 pokemon for every generation so it all wont but can make sence

Just realized Mew was probably partially inspired by the Monito del Monte! A real marsupial mouse found in South America that looks exactly like fossil records of the marsupials in Australia.

Mew came before Arceus in real life, so thats how it goes in the chicken/egg situation you mentioned.

I always kind of assumed that Mew was some kind of proto-pokemon. The first one to test things out and using him as a template to make all subsequent pokemons. Making him the first pokemon "created".

The Distortion World is basically the Null Void from Ben 10!

Hoopa is a genie that once carried off an entire castle...while Marshadow hides in people's shades in order to copy and surpass their powers... Sounds like someone at Pokémon was taking notes from the Sonic games in 2006 Hoopa even has the same color scheme as Erazor Djinn!

I'd add dashed lines between the pokemon with possible connections to make the chart easier to read.

Legendary Pokémon really took a nosedive

Maybe phione is the "sea drifter" because that's what happens to manaphy eggs when they hatch in the wrong environment

Galar Zapdos and Landorus have their names swapped when you show their Pokedex Entries. Around 10-11 minutes in. Just an FYI. Great video though.

I think meltan should be oriented with alchemy and so should be related to cosmog trio but not direct descendants but more of accidental finding when trying to summon solgaleo.

Perhaps Mew is the final life form, the final cumulative evolution of Pokemon, hence the DNA, and the eggs that celebi leaves behind are mew?

What about the ultrabeasts? Also I have thoughts about connections to some of the pokemon that you couldn't figure out connections too like Mew and Arceus...

Don't go looking for a connection where there is none. The developers didn't consider lore and unity for it's a goddamn children's game; just plain badassery.

I feel like every legendary/mythical Pokémon that is space/dimensions related come from palkia, any darkness related come from Giratina, and any with time abilities come from dialga, and maybe all the harvest/plant related ones come from either Groudon or Enamorus.

Im pretty sure arceus was created by mew and mew was created by arceus. Mew, the ever curious pokemon that it is and iirc direct creator of celebi, used celebi to go back in time to the beginning of everything, discovered that there was in fact nothing, and transformed or rebirthed itself into arceus and created the universe proper. Thats why everything has mews dna, including arceus. Because mew straight up made everything and technically is arceus.

I know that the main series doesn't have a definitive timeline but could you imagine living in the Pokemon world? Within 20 years mythological creatures that have thought to be legends from a thousand years ago are coming back. Gen 2 Legends, appearances up. Gen 3 - wake up after eons, flood and heatwave the region and battle Gen 5 - Wake up after eons, freeze a third of the region and battle Gen 7 - strong inter dimensional Pokemon causing havoc Gen 8 - mythological darkest day what is happening again and ungodly Pokemon hand of enormous size is descending from the heavens. Gen 9 - odd Donphan, hero trio of myth come back to life and turn out to be bad guys Imagine what it has done to the public 75% of people must be Doom dayers 😂

14:22 Regieleki & Regidrago weren't in the lore of the original movie involving rock, ice and steel regi's. Also apparently some speculate that Reggie means material or element. Others have heard that Regi aka Reggie is a shout-out to one of the creators of Pokemon that happened to give birth to ideas that made these Pokemon.

With Mew and Arceus, Ive always looked at it as Arceus created the entire universe, which could be many worlds. Mew is responsible for the "regular" pokemon on earth. In some ways, its almost easier to see them as deities or demigods with how often some legendaries or mythical are tied to some abatract concept or force of nature. Then Mew, was the one responsible for creating or "evolving" into all the other pokemon, the non legendaries or mythical, on earth. Im not 100% on how psuedo legendaries fit into that. Maybe they're just extemely old breeds or types, so they werent as watered down genetically.

nah he created mew much later after creating earth so the weather trio and aura trio were made before mew. Mew could have been created by them or directly by arceus. A simple way to say is mew is adam of pokemon universe
