I’m not sure yet if boat life is in my future but I appreciate the information. Most other videos I’ve seen so far have a ton of fluff. This was straight to the point. Thanks!

I lived on a 55' Seagoing houseboat for 5 years. It had two 318 Chryslers with Dana stern drives, a 6.5 KW Onan generator, full amenities. I miss it!
Awesome video. Love it when people put their costs
That was awesome. Thank you for the information. Good stuff
Agree that it is economical! We live on our 42 ft boat in the summer. Love it!!

Thats a great looking house boat dog..
I vacationed in Wilmington a few years ago. Loved the lil city but it was so expensive compared to other beaches so we moved up about 15 mins and found a better spot, the lil town with the rides?! I can't even remember. Gosh I wanna go back but it's so sad you lost your dock.
Beautiful! What do you do for WiFi? I work from home and I must have an excellent connection. Is this something some marinas will have? I’m looking for a marina now, but I have no idea where I want to be.
Don’t forget all these too…Cell phone, internet, water, food, car, car insurance, sewer, school loans, credit cards, medical insurance, annual tabs for car, birthdays/holiday gifts, maintenance and repair costs, life insurance, retirement, childcare, pet expenses, extra circular activities for kids, fun money

This KZreadr simply broke down the cost of living on a houseboat. What you mentioned are other daily life expenses that would be there regardless of where you're living, and will vary person to person based on their own requirements.

@houseboatgirl4764

Hi! Thank you! And I don’t only because I don’t like to share my location and I’ve only been in one so far. And you can do either! Annual is cheaper for sure.
I've thought about this. I've really thought hard about this.
746 a month is a steal when it comes to cost of living. For a lot of people, they're coughing up over 2k a month just for a studio apartment.
Her costs are not bad at all. My mortgage with VA loan in the DMV in 2014 is $1,119 and HOA is close to $100. I have solar and my car is paid off. Water is so cheap I can pay that several months at a time. Maybe $20 a month? Not to mention $130 for car and house insurance.
Is it hard to qualify for a mortgage on a houseboat? Do you have pumps to keep hot water around your boat during the winter.
Any tips/resources you recommend for finding a boat? (websites, forums, etc.)?

A little FYI ... you need to replace the Anodes on those pontoons regularly because saltwater eats aluminum very quickly and they’ll start leaking and will just get worse and a very short time

Good to see a pretty young lady who has the courage to live her dream. I am sure you get people telling you not to live this way but I think it is wonderful. You must be very happy, simple but fun lifestyle. Remember this, life is not about accumulating objects as they don’t mean much very shortly, the things people cherish are memories of experiences that you have had. Take care, thanks for sharing.
That's less than my real-estate taxes alone! I am surprised how reasonable your marina is. My experience up the east coast was ~$3/ft per night! The west coast was 'don't ask'. Also impressed with the low 'mortgage' on your new, nicely appointed boat. You must have done well in both price and rate. I do have one question. You mention a trailer cost but no mention of the substantial truck it takes to pull it. How do you handle that?

@@houseboatgirl4764 Fortunately, having a 2 story box boat is super efficient when they charge by the foot. You have the living space of a 50 footer and the slip fee of a 24. You seem to be fairly self sufficient (maybe need more water tank capacity) so you could anchor out most of the time. The great thing about trailable boats is you have so many options. There are lots of fresh water marinas. Your boat would be awesome for a summer around the Erie canal and the finger lakes for a summer, spend a fall week in the Hudson doing NYC. Then trailer back south for the winter. I just started your series. I look forward to seeing where you plan to cruise.
You can save even more if you like fish. Nice home.

I’m a woman and I’ve been considering it! I know tons of girls who love boats, the water, and tiny cozy spaces. Also tons of women who love sunning themselves. Since there are a lot of us out there, you shouldn’t let your love prospects interfere with how you want to live your life! Find a woman who enjoys the lifestyle you enjoy, so you can laze on the water on a sunny Sunday morning eating fish tacos for breakfast 😉 that’s what makes a relationship

Make sure you are changing the AC filter that simple thing can make it work again , and suck the water out of the pipe that keep the moisture out of the air, in guess you have too much water evaporation in the cause you love in the water
