How Light Bulbs Are Made
Ғылым және технология
The incandescent light bulb is made from two separate factory lines that eventually merge. One prepares the glass bulb. The other make the electrical components in the light bulb.

I'm always impressed at the machines that make the invention, way more complex than the invention itself. Who designs these machines?

The real fun is the glass foundry, it’s like Dante’s inferno. I spent 6months on a project in one. It was the most dangerous place I’ve ever been in. The had an onsite nurse. The accident book filled a page a day. They also had a hotline to the local hospital, no dialing just pick up the handset.

@@thecampaigner2167 Although the materials used aren't a health hazard, incandescent bulbs use significantly more power than LED bulbs, since they rely on heat to generate light. This is probably the main reason they were banned, since energy production is a burden on the environment, and most of the time the heat was an annoying byproduct rather than being used for anything (except in edge cases like easy bake ovens). Also, the increased risk of fire is in theory a hazard, although it relies on the user being negligent and putting the bulb right next to something flammable.

Green Bean The FitnessGram™ Pacer Test is a multistage aerobic capacity test that progressively gets more difficult as it continues. The 20 meter pacer test will begin in 30 seconds. Line up at the start. The running speed starts slowly, but gets faster each minute after you hear this signal. [beep] A single lap should be completed each time you hear this sound. [ding] Remember to run in a straight line, and run as long as possible. The second time you fail to complete a lap before the sound, your test is over. The test will begin on the word start. On your mark, get ready, start.
