Dray is my fav player by far. Not so many people understand how smart he is, his level of understanding the game. Andre in his book said Dray is a professor of the game. And he brings some heart and world-class D. I really hope JTA will bounce to at least some level of Dray as he was last season.

IMO everyone got lazy by depending on directions from Draymond instead of learning & now they can't win without him. They don't have to win every game but the inconsistency & lack of focus is disturbing and will not win championships.

@@carolmiller5713 Can't win without him makes it sound like they were hurling towards Laker ball in his absence. He is an indispensable presence to the fortunes of the Dubs. No question. But the team has been forced to step up and will be far better upon his return. I just think of Kevon Looney, whoa, I mean sheesh is that going to be an even tougher pair to overcome when Dray returns? Their record since Jan 1 is 14-8. Hardly subpar with an exceptional win - maybe their best win this year - against the Spurs in SA. So "can't win" is a wee bit of an embellishment, don't you think?

I absolutely agree with Klay here, Draymond really does things that don't show up in the box score and that is the most underrated thing about him. He's the floor general and the defensive anchor of this team. He leads the Warriors vocally, he's the heart and soul. If we want to win the championship this season and possibly the next, we definitely need Draymond healthy in the time when the playoffs start.

Because they are good without him. 11-6 since Jan 9 is still playoff basketball. Not top seed, but still would win a berth. If the Warriors were to actually NOT have Draymond Green there would be a vacancy that would likely to be filled with a very, very good player. It's hard to say they aren't good without looking at the whole organization. It's also hard to really assess a team's strength when they are not at full strength. The Lakers are at full strength. What do they have going for them? The Warriors have not been at full strength for the whole season and have the second best record in the NBA. When the Dubs full roster comes online the Suns are their only real competition. As it is now? The Suns and the Grizzlies might be their only real competition in playoff basketball. I would say the Bucks but the Suns just dissected them on national TV. The Warriors will know how to exploit their weaknesses. Think Detroit/Lakers 2004 finals.

It's funny how things have turned around for him. I was never one to jump on the triple single bandwagon but certainly there were plenty of times in those 3 seasons were it honestly didn't look like Dray was worth his contract anymore. You never expected him to fill up the stat sheet but he looked bad. The jump shot was completely gone (and largely still is btw), he had no desire or ability to attack the rim, nor post up. On offense the only thing he could do was pass and most every team knew that hence why the smarter teams just sagged all the way off him and jumped the passing lanes. Then even on defense the effort would come and go frequently even if the IQ was always there. This season he's really switched on and the team misses him bad. His 3 ball isn't ever coming back but at least he takes the wide open ones every now and then and the fake hand off has become a staple of his once again. But all the intangibles highlighted in the video are true and then some. His role and the change in the coaching staff combined with the roster moves is why we have the number 1 defense in the league. And that seems to be sticking whether he is on and off the floor.

I question coaching ALL-THE-TIME. They've got the pieces. JTA should be cloned into a Dray replacement. Poole already proved he can let Steph/Klay take a break. Porter/Moody should be Klay 2.0, Kuminga should be a wing to switch out with Wiggs. GPayton sharpen up his 3s and be the guy (like Klay was) to take on the teams best ball handler/shooter. IF Wise can step in healthy, with a 'Shaq' attitude this team wins 3 - 4 more rings..that's 11 players, a playoff roster. The bench? - DLee, Iggy, and G league Quin D (was major in the Christmas win over Suns). Tell Bob Meyers they NEEED another BIG. Right now - Beli, Loony - the weakest links.

Draymond green was getting himself ejected from games when they were getting blown out in 2019/20 season. Which leader does that? Joe lacob, steve kerr bob myers already said curry is the face of the franchise and the leader of the warriors. They go as far as steph takes them. Draymond is a ceiling raiser

7 games? Yeah Otto was underratedly good replacement but 7 games is still a small sample size to conclude that they can still win without Dray most especially come playoff time, and Dray Already prove that they can dominate defensively with him the last 8-10yrs.. 🤷

@@galbal9597 I’m not saying he’s Dennis Rodman and has his type of impact or anything. But can you honestly say in today’s game anyone else has his impact on the playmaking and defensive end, I could honestly say Giannis now and that’s probably the name I should’ve said instead of Lebron. because he can truly guard 1-5 for any given night whereas lebron could only guard the 5 for a limited time even in his prime. But regardless, I don’t think Golden state needs more scoring considering they got 4 people that can go for 30+ on any given night including Wiggins who replaced KDs role of being an above the rim threat as well as being a great shooter everywhere on the court. So replacing draymonds spot with a superstar would be redundant and destroy their salary cap

The captain is curry.. stop all this shit. No team can go 9 game winning streak without its captain. When curry was out dray couldnt even lead them to a respectable record. 2019/20 15-50. Last year when curry had the taulbone injury 1-4. Stop all this crap.. warriors with curry and dray never won 9 straight games because dray cant score. Enthony edwards even said curry was easier to guard with dray than with klay. You people watch simple basketball and dont use your brains to interprete it. Instead you run with narratives like headless chickens

Please don’t give us some insane crap . Draymond can encourage his teammates with his emotions. Curry encourages his team with his playstyle. Draymond sets the tone for the warriors and in that regard is as valuable as Stephen is. The warriors won’t win the championship without the heart of their defense. Pipe down keyboard warrior and watch the warriors games.

They can go 1 and 4 with that same captain too, while seeing their defensive rating plummet. No Draymond and playoff wins become very difficult. Regular season win streaks (on a long home-stand) against majority sub-500 teams are meaningless if the goal is winning in the finals.

Draymond is as important as Stephen Curry and other GSW. His suspension during the series vs Cleveland Cavaliers caused them the Championship. His defense, rebounding and passing is needed.
