You mentioned you only recently got kettlebells and it looks like you have a barbell background. How do you find double bell staples like the clean, front squat, and feel? Do you have heavy bells? And have you tried Clean and Jerks? Your channel popped up in my feed and I love it.

Hey Jason man. Good to hear from you! I’d say I’ve been using the kbs consistently since last September. I’d just dabbled with them from time to time before that. Same with the barbell. I’ve only been picking at it with some deadlifts and overhead presses. I don’t have any kind of background in it at all really. I’m a big fan of the bodyweight training BUT the kbs have really grown on me as of late. To answer your question though, when I use the 20kg bells, the clean squat press feels fine. As you fatigue it becomes harder on the upper body really. Trying to stay upright and all. It really works the arms and core a lot more than people probably realize. I think for me right now the 24 kgs would be a little much, especially if done for volume. But I also only have 2 16’s, the 2 20’s of course and 1 32kg kb. I’ve done C/J with a bar before but not with kbs. But that’s just because I don’t have two bigger ones. How about you man. I looked briefly at your channel and it seems you have a good variety of kbs👍. I’ll definitely subscribe and check out some of your content man! Big ups to YT for making the connection👌.

Oh yeah JP man, it cools off pretty nicely up here. Not to bad today as it was only around -18 before the wind chill🤦‍♂️. And to be honest, I definitely believe that lifting some weight, either with kbs, a bar, or dumbbells, has made burpees less difficult. Especially when it comes to the actual pushing part. The cardio will always be challenging though hey😆. So to your point, as long as it doesn’t hurt you or cause an injury, I think some strength training will only benefit your burpee game brother. I’m gonna go check out your 200 burpee vid there now brother. Enjoy the rest of your evening👊.

I would use a weight that is challenging but still allows you to get a decent number of reps completed. If you work through 10 reps of the kb complex and you can barely complete the 10th overhead press, you might want to try a lighter weight. And if the weight is so light that you can do the 10th press super easy, maybe increase it a little. Play around with it and I’m sure you’ll find the right weight for you👍.
