HOW I STOPPED BALDING!!
My hairloss story…
Guys, the biggest lesson to take from this video, is if you care about keeping your hair, starting treatment as soon as possible is the key.

Hey Tom, what your hair routine. Shampoo and conditioner etc

Hey Dan! So I only shampoo like twice a week most of the time. And condition every other day (but always directly after shampoo also). I use ketoconazole shampoo once a week ideally, and then honestly just a decent quality, low chemical shampoo & conditioner will do the job :)
Hey mate there’s research that suggests that even when using finasteride daily along with minoxidil, the effectiveness of minoxidil will start to wear off at the 7-8 year mark . Would this worry you in the future ? I only use finasteride daily

Potentially, but honestly, there’s other research that disagrees with it. So I’m never sure which to believe. But I do know for sure that I needed to start it asap as I didn’t want to lose my hair in my 20’s. I guess we’ll see where time takes me now.
great video. i don't "love" talking about fin side effects, but for me it caused adrenalin spikes that made it impossible to do anything athletic, without feeling like i was going to pass out/have a heart attack, even at very low doses. adrenalin is harmless, but i like to mention that t as i know others have run into this issue as well. i'm glad you found a solution; your hair looks great.

Why is Minoxidil not recommended for man over 50 years of age? Can´t find an answer in the internet. Your hair really looks great by the way!

Thanks! :) Where have you heard this? I mean it depends how far gone your hair is, if you started losing it really late in life, then there’s no reason why starting it over 50 wouldn’t work still!

If you're not responding to topical, you should probably consider incorporating microneedling into your regimen, which should help with absorption.

@tomgillbanks
Ай бұрын
Hey! So since you’re only 16, the protocol I’d recommend is starting minoxidil daily, and a dermaneedle, until you’re 18 then look into starting finasteride. Hopefully this will be enough to preserve what you have until you’re old enough to start blocking DHT. Saw palmetto can be a good natural alternative until then, or if it’s getting really bad, you could talk to your doctor about topical finasteride :)

Having the same hailrine and hairtexture as a relative means that you will follow the same hairloss pattern? There is any sort of genetics test that determine if u have androgenetic alopecia or not? I'm 18 and I was born with a nw 1.5 and now that I've know that there is chances that I can go bald as my dad I'm freaked out, my genetics is really strange (my maternal grandfather had a jouvenile hairline and a head full of hair until his early 70s, my dad's dad died at 98 years old with hair (obviously thinned out), my dad is bald like other three brothers, only two still have a head full of hair (one is in his 50s and the other one in his late 50s) and i have the same hairline as the youngest one out of these two. What should I do? Taking finasteride? If I start to take it now there is any chance i can keep my hair until i reach my late 50s? What about the efficacy, my fears is that baldness kicks in later in my life and finasteride or dutasteride won't have effect anymore? I'm very happy for u bro, keep going.
@tomgillbanks
2 күн бұрын
Hello bro, thank you! So genetics are really hard to distinguish & there isn’t really a test to be sure on whether you have the gene or not. But it can pop up anywhere down the line, and one man might not get it, but his son does or vice versa, and it certainly a combination of both the mother’s and father’s genetics. On starting finasteride, that’s totally your call bro. I’d say talk to your doctor or dermatologist. But it’s all up to you what you want to do & how proactive you want to be.

Yeah topical formulations can be a great option for those not wanting full systemic absorption, or those who suffer from side effects on oral. Manual also offer topical versions of finasteride, and combined finasteride & minoxidil. I just tried it to see if I reacted with any side effects after titrating the dose up slowly, and I was fortunate to have none. I just like the convenience of the pill.
My biggest mistake was to take minoxodil first and not finasteride. I had goodl result with minoxidil only, but because of dht i started to lose hair again after 1 year, then i started finasteride It been 1 year a no real result, for now at least, still sheding, slowly but surely

You might be surprised bro, of course you may be correct & it’s too far gone. But, depending how much you care, treatment + a hair transplant can work miracles, even when it’s quite progressed. @tomgillbanks

Hey! So it can actually take 1-2 years to see full results. This could be thickening, or it could just be hanging on to what you had upon starting. I’d definitely recommend reassessing at 6 months & check your progress then. For me that’s around when I saw a cosmetic difference. As for the pill, this is totally up to you bro. I take it for convenience honestly & it may induce a shed, but if you’ve been using topical, it would be likely to not be too crazy.
