    Hi bro, I started notching a lot of hair shedding around 6 months ago, I got a buzz and started taking Finasteride around the middle of February and oral minoxidil 2.5mg at the start of March, I’ve been pretty consistent with my use at the start I was shedding a bit more than normal then around May - mid June my shedding had decreased to around a max of 35 hairs a day that I could see, however the last two weeks my shedding has increased a lot and I am seeing far more hair in the shower on my hands , if I comb my hair and on my pillowcases, considering it’s about the 4 month mark would you say this is normal or should I potentially visit a doctor/Gp for help, thanks for your videos bro they’ve helped a lot and keep on the grind ✅

  • @tomgillbanks

    Hey bro! Thanks for the kind message, I really appreciate it & glad my videos have helped :) I’d say this is totally normal, and a good sign if anything. Certainly this early on in the treatment, but also I’d honestly say, until after 2-3 years, shedding is probably going to be pretty significant until they reach a steady state of being out of synchronisation with one another :)

    Varys shaves his head, he grew up as a mummer acting in plays. He shaves his head so that he can change into disguises and wings to not be noticed by people when skulking about. The Targaryen theory is fun but it doesn't make thematic sense for there to be another secret Targaryen in a story that already has a few of them to begin with. Also, whatever pill you're selling, I ain't buying.

    Having the same hailrine and hairtexture as a relative means that you will follow the same hairloss pattern? There is any sort of genetics test that determine if u have androgenetic alopecia or not? I'm 18 and I was born with a nw 1.5 and now that I've know that there is chances that I can go bald as my dad I'm freaked out, my genetics is really strange (my maternal grandfather had a jouvenile hairline and a head full of hair until his early 70s, my dad's dad died at 98 years old with hair (obviously thinned out), my dad is bald like other three brothers, only two still have a head full of hair (one is in his 50s and the other one in his late 50s) and i have the same hairline as the youngest one out of these two. What should I do? Taking finasteride? If I start to take it now there is any chance i can keep my hair until i reach my late 50s? What about the efficacy, my fears is that baldness kicks in later in my life and finasteride or dutasteride won't have effect anymore? I'm very happy for u bro, keep going.

  • @tomgillbanks
    @tomgillbanks5 күн бұрын

    Hello bro, thank you! So genetics are really hard to distinguish & there isn’t really a test to be sure on whether you have the gene or not. But it can pop up anywhere down the line, and one man might not get it, but his son does or vice versa, and it certainly a combination of both the mother’s and father’s genetics. On starting finasteride, that’s totally your call bro. I’d say talk to your doctor or dermatologist. But it’s all up to you what you want to do & how proactive you want to be.

    Do you think that babies who born with hair are more likely to lose hair than those who are born bald? Take me as an example. When i was a baby, i had hair, as can be seen in my photo. When i turned 15, it started to shedded, while i have friends who were born bald, & now they have thick hair. Or is it just the genetics? BTW i’m not currently bald but I just suffer hair loss & lost my hairline, i had a hair transplant 6 years ago when i was 25😊

  • @gmtrcl6620

    Hair transplants are horrible... You lose the naturalness of your hair, and your scalp becomes mutilated. I hope no one has to resort to such a means to get their hair back.

  • @tomgillbanks
    @tomgillbanks9 күн бұрын

    Honestly, I just thought titrating up slowly would be a good call. So I started with just 0.5mg around 3 times a week, steadily increasing to everyday over time (every month or so increasing). Then did the same until now where I’m on 1mg daily. Just to rule out any chance of side effects, and let my body adjust gradually rather than a big hit all at once. You don’t have to do it like this, it was just the way I decided to go :)

    I got results with finasteride around the 6 month mark, this is when I saw noticeable cosmetic improvements, but it got worse before it got better.

  • @christmasbaby4161
    @christmasbaby416110 күн бұрын

    Finasteride can actually raise free testosterone levels as it blocks the testosterone from converting into dht. Less conversion means the possibility of higher free testosterone. As levels are always fluctuating it’s most likely you will hover around what your baseline was if you average the fluctuations out It’s a misconception that finasteride and dutasteride block testosterone, the mechanism of the medication stops the conversion it doesn’t block testosterone. Overall dutasteride blocks type 1 and type 2 so you get more bang for your buck and potentially only have to take the medicine 3-4 times a week since the half life is around 4-5 weeks and finasteride half life is around 6 hours If you’re using oral finasteride it may be worth also incorporating a topical with a minoxidil/finasteride mixture Topical dutasteride isn’t as helpful as topical finasteride so don’t waste your time. Also try to get .3% finasteride most offer .1 but the efficacy is better a.t .3. Also 10% minoxidil is better for results on hairline and temples and no really extra benefit for the rest of the head. 5% out performs the 10% for crown and back of the head. Hope you have much success with regrowth and maintenance!! Have a great day

  • @tomgillbanks
    @tomgillbanks12 күн бұрын

    Hey man! Yeah honestly, I was really scared too. But I did so much research to make sure I understood everything I possibly could about the medication. This gave me peace of mind that the chances were extremely low, so I took the chance with it. That’s not me telling you to take it, but definitely do your research, and then make the right decision for you. I do think having a positive mindset going into it makes a huge difference with the majority of the common side effects related to finasteride though.
