    Seeing those numbers in a pie chart was excellent! It really does put things in perspective. And yes, you have to be prepared to say no to everything except what really matters. Keeping track of screen time can be especially helpful (and humbling): the amount of time you spend in Xcode versus Safari or Messages or Ivory or whatever is a good measure of how serious you are.

    That’s a pretty cool video. Seems obvious but somethings we don’t do the obvious things. What mean by that, at least for me, when I have the visual representation (pie chart, for instance) make things clear and easy to understand the pros and cons of anything. Really cool content and channel. Subscribed!!!

    Great video Aivars. It's a good approach to look at what you do from different angles and decide what are your priorities and goals for the future. A spreadsheet with hours in a day/week was such a powerful thing and when I've added up everything what I would like to do I was almost 2 days short in a week :D

    That's the problem with todo lists, you can make them very long and then feel bad that didn't check out half of planned even if that wasn't realistically possible :)

    Getting up at 3 or 4 can help, but only if you need to improve schedule. I did that for a while, to learn and work before day job, but I was in a bed early as well. You have to get whatever sleeping hours your body needs and usually it is about 7h

    Nice technique, to figure things out. If you look at 6:00 revenue vs scheduled time, it seems pretty obvious to lower freelance (40h) in favor of indie (8h average so far?). More risk, but with 30h freelance, you are still on the safe side.

    Current freelance project is full time consultant agreement. So it is 40h or nothing. I like the team and product, don't want to drop that just to find another, part time project.

    Not sure, imo cutting IG & short videos might play back because they are still part of the personal branding and “algorithm”, aren’t they? Might look tempting to save time there but could play back negatively on the big picture which is harder to calculate in a simple way.

  • @AivarsMeijers

    @AivarsMeijers

    I'm not dropping IG completely, but unlikely I will do well edited and long videos for it and YT shorts. If you will check my Reels, you will see that last day in a life or microphone review are on 11 and 19K views. The clip where I'm pouring coffee in the cup has about 20K views. Shorts on YT generate views, but do not add much subs so, that mostly is a fun way to waste a bit of time :)
