How I Epoxy Tumblers

Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

This is a rundown of my epoxy process and how I get my tumblers pretty smooth and bubble-less. It is really a quite simple test of patience and don't mess with it too much. I hope this helps but if it doesn't or you have other questions, leave me a comment or check out my Facebook Group: / 2645754805689060

Thank you for this! I already do all of these things, and getting a smooth coat is still hit and miss for me. I’m fairly certain that there are evil epoxy spirits haunting my studio. Weekend before last, I did everything exactly the same as I have always done, and every tumbler I put epoxy on repelled REALLY bad. I’ve never had any issues with epoxy repelling before! It’s so frustrating to think I’m on the final coat only to find the surface full of bumps. I wish there were tumbler makers in my area who were willing to get together in person for tips & tricks meetings.

You can also microwave it for 5-10 seconds depending how much you are mixing. You know Mother Nature is about to crank up the temps. Do you use the heater during the summer? I also found it is much better to mix in small batches. I have some cups to work on today and I was also going to try warming the cups slightly before I apply the resin. I've noticed that when I spread the resin (I use the same method as you.) it will cool suddenly and not be as fluid in parts. I feel like pre-warming the cup just a little might help a lot.
