    I'm so happy to find your video tonight. I always learn so much from your videos and hope to keep viewing them in the future!!! The video regarding salt in betta aquariums would be helpful.

    I think pop eye is relatively common in bettas specifically with new fish keepers, poor water quality is the most common cause from what i've seen, stress can also make them much more susceptible to illness and the move is probably what triggered it in her, even if the water quality isn't horrible if it dips and has stress it can show up, so it might not be an injury especially if both eyes are affected. if you haven't already i would be adding bacteria supplements to the water to ensure a strong cycle has taken over, even if the levels seem stable when you test they might not be 100% secure after a move, so it doesn't hurt to do that for a few weeks. I would also load up the main tank with almond leaves so the water is decently dark so when the fish goes back in, there's far less chance it'll come back, it will continue her healing process but also prevent it from spreading to other fish if any of the bacteria is still present. Epsom salts is also used to reduce fluid retention, that's why its used to try and treat dropsy because the pineconing is caused by fluid buildup in the body, so an Epsom salt bath should help with fluid retention in the eyes, however its not to be used in their tank ever, its only for 10-15 minute baths, aquarium salt would be great in the actual tank as it helps with bacterial infections. With almond leaves i like to try and make the water super dark, the more tannins the better it will work for healing, and i always like to keep a small amount in every tank/jar for prevention and the thing about Myth blue is so true omg x"D I find it on myself or in weird places when i haven't even touched the bottle in months? like how the f did i get this crap on me when i haven't even touched the thing??????? lmao

    Yes i'm defo siding more with the water quality changing suddenly, the change was quite drastic (better but changed quickly). She was pretty stress free throughout the moving process though! She's doing so much better now!! love seeing them improve so much after something like this!

    your chair is AWESOME ! I've cured Popeye in 2 separate fish , both gouramis , and they were both blind in the infected eye afterwards.

    Aawww is it quite common with gouramis? This fish is doing so well now, the cloudyness is reducing too so hopefully she's all good and it hasnt effected her vision! Hard to tell though

    Before you even mentioned the chair I was eyeing it up like… omg that’s gorgeous I need one in my office 👀 I have similar - not as nice- blinds in there and it would match my jungle theme 😂 Love it!! Glad to know what to do with Popeye if it ever comes about now 😁

    Great video thanks very much! I’ve had pop eye in one of my bettas before and cleared it using salt and water changes. I’ll definitely do this in the future though. A quick question, how do you regulate the temperature in the jars? Do you find that the temperature stays warm enough for the betta throughout the day until you change the water?

  • @GraciisBettas

    @GraciisBettas

    So during the winter or if the room gets cold at all I use heat cable which keeps the jars all at the same temp. Or if the room is at a stable enough warm temp I keep them at room temperature. If its just a few jars for a small amount of time like with this fish, I just put the jar on top of the tank lid which is warm and keeps the water at a stable temperature working in the same way as heat cable.

    If my betta is in a quarantine tank does it need a heater and filter??

  • @kristinabarkovic4525

    Definitely a heater but filter is not necessary as long as you don’t overfeed and change water daily. I just put fish into a brand new container daily instead of doing a WC on the one fish is in

    This is a really scatterbrain video. How much salt did you put in the cup and how long did you put the fish in the cup for and how often did you change the cup water. I can't follow it's all over the place and I need clear directions.

  • @GraciisBettas

    I treated her exactly as explained in the video ☺️ there's no set time for how long they should stay in the cup, just as long as it takes for them to heal and for you to see improvements! As explained in the video the water got changed every day and each time I added either salt and ial or methelyne blue. For the salt, I personally only add around 1/4 teaspoon to the jar but some add more or less. It completely depends on the size of the container and the fish. If you never use salt in your tanks then the fish will probably tolerate a smaller quantity of salt. But yeah imo there aren't any set rules and its trial and error until i personally found something that worked for my fish. This video was to show how I cured rather than a step by step how to video ☺️
